KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches announced its College Player of the Week awards on Wednesday afternoon, and they awarded Lubbock Christian University's Lexi De La Cruz as their DII Women's Player of the Week.

De La Cruz is the first Lady Chap to win this award in program history.

De La Cruz totaled 10 points including scoring or assisting on every Lady Chap goal to lead LCU to a 2-0 week against Regis and New Mexico Highlands. The junior from Lubbock, Texas was a member of the D2CCA All-Region Second Team and LSC All-Conference First Team a season ago. Last week, De La Cruz totaled three goals and four assists. She had three assists against New Mexico Highlands, the most in a single game for LCU since Sept. 20, 2019.

De La Cruz was named the LSC Offensive Player of the week yesterday.

LCU is off to a 2-1-1 start this season. The Lady Chaps return home this Thursday (Sept. 14) to take on Metropolitan State of Denver (1-1-2). Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the LCU Soccer & Track Facility.
