LUBBOCK, Texas (September 15, 2023) --The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals fell in straight sets to Texas Woman's 3-0 (22-25, 15-25, 19-25) Friday in the Lone Star Conference Crossover held inside Rip Griffin Center.
The non-conference loss dropped Lubbock Christian to 7-2 on the season and it was their first straight-set loss of the season.
Lily Bickley finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Lady Chaps attack. Nearly completing a double-double was Kiana Fallaha, who had eight kills and a team-leading 11 digs and Kayton Genenbacher, who finished with nine digs and a team-leading 20 assists. LCU did receive five blocks from Kalli Dalland to lead them defensively.

» Chloe Menard had LCU's lone serving ace of the contest.
» Lily Bickley had a team-high nine kills for Lubbock Christian. The match marked LCU's first in which they did not have a player with at least 10 kills, and their 28 kills as a team was a season-low.
» The last time LCU fell in straight sets at home was Oct. 19, 2022, as they fell 3-0 to West Texas A&M. WTAMU had a +19-kill advantage over LCU in the game, which was exactly the case Friday, as TWU had a 47-28 advantage in kills against LCU.

» The win put TWU ahead in the all-time series with a 6-5 all-time record against LCU and they are 3-1 against the Lady Chaps in Lubbock.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Chaps fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-22 in a game that featured five lead changes and was tied seven times. Neither team led by more than three points in the match. Cara Pool led TWU with six kills in the set, as LCU received three kills each from Fallaha and Bickley in the frame.
SET 2 | A 25-15 set-two loss put Lubbock Christian in a 2-0 deficit in the match. Lubbock Christian trailed by as many as 10 points as Texas Woman's grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Pioneers took over the lead thanks to a 13-6 scoring advantage during the set. Fallaha and Bickley co-led LCU in kills during the set with three kills each for a second consecutive set. Kady Hansen had five kills and a pair of blocks in the set for TWU.
SET 3 | TWU scored the first point and never looked back, as a 7-1 run helped the Pioners surge to a 25-19 set win. Bickley tallied three kills for a third consecutive set to pace LCU's offense in the set.
Next Up
The LSC Crossover closes Saturday with LCU hosting Oklahoma Christian. Both teams are winless in the event and the match serves as the final tune-up to conference play, which begins next week. LCU and OC open serve at 3 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center.
