Nathaniel Luna Breaks Two School Records as LCU Competes at New Mexico Team Open

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sophomore Nathaniel Luna broke the LCU school records in the 200 meter dash and 60 meter dash as the Lubbock Christian University Track & Field program competed at the New Mexico Team Open this weekend. 

Luna ran a 6.79 to win the unseeded 60 meter dash and broke the LCU record of 6.83 that he set last season. Luna ran a 21.2 in the 200 meter to break the previous record of 21.33 (Daniel Effiong, 1995). 

George Garcia ran the second fastest time in LCU history in the 400 meter invitational, running a 47.48 and finishing in 9th place overall. Chris Rader also ran an impressive race in the unseeded 400 meter, setting a new personal best with a 48.79 

Anna Salisbury had another impressive meet running a 24.71 in the unseeded 200 meter and finishing in 17th. She also finished 6th in the 400 meter invitational with a time of 54.56.
