WICHITA FALLS, Texas (October 29, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University travels to Wichita Falls for a midweek Lone Star Conference clash against Midwestern State at 7 p.m. from Stang Park.

Lubbock Christian is 5-5-5 overall on the season and sitting in seventh place in the Lone Star Conference with a 2-3-3 conference mark. The Chaparrals are coming off Saturday's 1-1 draw at Dallas Baptist in Dallas. In road games this season, Lubbock Christian holds a 3-2-2 record and is unbeaten in their last three road matches.

The Mustangs enter Wednesday's matchup with a 9-2-3 overall record and 4-2-1 in Lone Star matches. Midwestern State currently sits second in the conference standings, behind St. Mary's, who is undefeated in Lone Star play. The Mustangs have defended Stang Park all season, going unbeaten this season with a 5-0-1 record in matches at the stadium.

Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State have met annually since their first meeting on September 15, 2014, with a total of 13 meetings in the all-time series. Midwestern State holds the strong 9-0-4 advantage, with Lubbock Christian yet to record a win against the Mustangs. In their last meeting, the Mustangs defeated the Chaparrals 5-1 in Lubbock on October 18, 2023.

The Chaparrals primary offensive scorer has been Justin Martinez, as his five goals leads the team and ranks seventh in the conference. Nako Amare contributed to the offensive effort with three goals and one assist, totaling seven points on the season. Manu Nunez leads the Chaparrals with three assists, which also ranks thirteenth in the conference. Goalkeeper Connor Pettigrew has continued to put up strong numbers for the Chaparrals. He ranks seventh in goals against average (1.533), first in overall saves (63), seventh in save percentage (73.3%) and third in saves per game (4.20).

Midwestern State lays claim to one of the best offensive players in the Lone Star Conference, Mere Escobar. Escobar leads the conference in shots (64), goals (12), shots on goal (28), assists (6) and points (30). Supporting Escobar offensively, Samuele Muroni ranks fifth in goals (7), fourth in shots on goal (16) and seventh in points (14). Max Gonzales has also contributed four goals and an assist, ranking 15th in the Lone Star with nine points. In front of the net, goalkeeper Daniel Robles has provided solid numbers for the Mustangs. Robles ranks seventh in goals against average (1.386), eighth in save percentage (63.6%) and tenth in saves per game (2.33).
