LCU enters the game following a 2-2 home draw against St. Edward's. The Chaparrals avoided a loss in their home conference opener with a late equalizer from Geoffroy Letienne, assisted by Francisco Horta. The result moved LCU to an even 3-3-3 overall record and 0-1-1 in Lone Star Conference play. The Dustdevils enter Wednesday's match with a 2-4-2 overall record and 0-1-1 in conference action. Their last match also ended in a draw, as they and West Texas A&M were unable to find the back of the net and finished 0-0.

Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M – International first met in 2013 and have since played 11 matches against each other. The Chaparrals hold the slight 6-5 edge in the series, while the Dustdevils won the most recent meeting, 1-0 on Nov. 1, 2023. Before this loss, LCU had won three straight matches against TAMIU, including two in Laredo. The last victory for the Dustdevils at home came in 2019, as they dismantled the Chaparrals 6-1. Interestingly, there has never been a tie in the series. However, both teams come into the match with five combined ties this season, potentially setting the foundation for the series' first.

The Dustdevils boast two offensive standouts, Derrick Espinal and Yahir Gallardo. Espinal ranks 14th in points in the Lone Star Conference, with three goals on the season. In addition, those three goals slot Espinal in ninth place in the conference in goals scored. He also ranks second in shots in the Lone Star, recording 23 in eight games played, an average of 2.88 shots per game. Gallardo ranks eighth in the conference in assists, with three on the season, averaging .333 assists a match.

Lubbock Christian is led by one of the best goalkeepers in the Lone Star, Connor Pettigrew, who ranks inside the top-seven of every major statistical category in the conference. Notably, Pettigrew ranks fourth in saves with 36 and second in saves per game, with an average of 4.00 a match.

Both teams will be in search of their first Lone Star Conference win of the season, as they have first touch at approximately 7:00 p.m. from Dustdevil Soccer Field in Laredo. FloSports will carry the game online and can be viewed at lcuchaps.com/live.
