Chaps Announce 2025 Schedule

LCU Hosting 24 Games at Hays Field

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 14, 2024) – Head Baseball Coach Nathan Blackwood has announced the 2025 schedule for the Chapparals, which will start on Jan. 31 at Hays Field.

Lubbock Christian will start the defense of their Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament titles will begin on their home field against UT Tyler, kicking off a slate of 24 total home games at the friendly confines. After the Patriots, the Chaps will host series against Oklahoma Christian, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M and Cameron.

Road opponents for LCU in 2025 include LSC newcomer Sul Ross State, St. Mary's, CSU-Pueblo, Texas A&M International, St. Edward's, Eastern New Mexico and UT Permian Basin.

The Chaparral schedule is once again made up of 48 conference games and only two non-league games. Lubbock Christian will play a four-game series against each of the 12 LSC baseball-playing members. The only non-conference games are the two on the road against CSU-Pueblo, which is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams in the LSC standings will make the league's postseason tournament. The top four seeds will host the bottom four seeds in a best-of-three series May 2-4. The four winners will advance to the highest remaining seed for the LSC Championship Finals.

The LSC Tournament winner will receive the league's automatic qualification to the NCAA Tournament, along with the RMAC Tournament winner and four other at-large bids. The South Central Regional will be hosted by the top two seeds May 15-17, followed by the Super Regional May 23-25. The winner will represent the South Central Region in Cary, North Carolina at the Division II World Series.

Lubbock Christian is coming off its most successful season in the Division II era. The Chaps were 45-16 in 2024, including a 35-16 showing at Hays Field. They won the LSC regular season title as well as the league's postseason tournament. LCU hosted and won the regional and advanced to the super regional for the first time in school history.
