> Southwestern Oklahoma State University has started the 2024-25 women's basketball season with a perfect 4-0 record, showcasing their dominance early on. The Lady Bulldogs opened their campaign with a strong showing at a neutral site, defeating Northeastern State 64-55, followed by a solid road win over Rogers State, 71-60, in Claremore, Oklahoma. They continued their momentum at home, overwhelming Eastern New Mexico 81-59, before delivering a commanding 86-51 road victory against Central Oklahoma. With a balanced schedule of home, away, and neutral-site victories, SWOSU enters their matchup against Lubbock Christian in Lubbock, Texas, riding a four-game win streak and looking to sustain their perfect start.

> SWOSU finished the 2023-24 season ranked sixth in the Great American Conference standings, posting a 10-12 conference record and an overall mark of 15-16. Despite their mid-tier finish, the Lady Bulldogs showed resilience in reaching the final of the 2024 GAC Championships, highlighted by two upsets during their postseason run. Averi Zinn emerged as a standout player, leading the GAC in assists per game while also contributing 12.7 points per game. SWOSU's strong home performance (8-5) provided a foundation for their season, though struggles on the road (4-8) ultimately limited their regular-season success. Heading into the 2024-25 season with the No. 4 preseason ranking in the GAC, the Lady Bulldogs will look to build on their postseason momentum and Zinn's leadership.

> The Bulldogs have shown notable strengths in turnover-related statistics, distinguishing themselves both nationally and within the Great American Conference (GAC). They lead the GAC and are 18th nationally in turnover margin (9.00), highlighting their ability to capitalize on opponent mistakes and maintain possession control. Additionally, they are tied for first in the GAC and 32nd nationally in turnovers forced per game (23.25).

> Another standout area is their efficiency in free-throw shooting and scoring defense. SWOSU ranks third in the GAC and 21st nationally in free-throw percentage (79.0%), a testament to their composure at the line. This efficiency complements their scoring defense ranking of 53rd nationally and third in the GAC (56.3 points allowed per game).

> Averi Zinn ranks seventh in the GAC and 102nd nationally in assists per game (3.8), while also ranking eighth in the GAC in points per game (15.5) behind a 48.9% shooting performance, which is eighth in the GAC and 116th nationally. These statistics highlight her dual role as a scorer and playmaker, making her central to SWOSU's offensive success. Moreover, Zinn's consistency extends to free-throw shooting, where she ranks ninth in the GAC with an 82.4% conversion rate.
