LCU Heads to Denton For First LSC Road Series

Lady Chaps Open Three-Game Series With Doubleheader Saturday at TWU

DENTON, Texas (February 24, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University plays their first true road games of the season Saturday, as they open a three-game Lone Star Conference series at Texas Woman's with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Dianne Baker Field.

LCU and TWU Series Snapshot
  • With wins in the previous eight meetings, LCU has 9-2 all-time series advantage.
  • Last season, the two teams met in Lubbock, where LCU swept the three game series Feb. 25 and 26, 2023.
  • The two squads have only met for one series in Denton. It came Apr. 1, 2022, with LCU sweeping a doubleheader for a 2-0 all-time record in Denton.

  • Hope Banales is 2-for-4 (.500) in her career against TWU (3 games) with two home runs and two RBI.
  • Sydnee Bowlin is 4-for-6 with a pair of RBI in three career games against the Pioneers.
  • Skylar Herrera has a .293 career average in seven career games against TWU with six RBI (has one home run).

  • Along with surpassing 500 coaching wins in softball, Hays had surpassed 300 wins as a collegiate baseball head coach. He spent eight seasons as the LCU baseball head coach and compiled a 356-163 record. Combine the two sports and Hays has coached in 1,229 total games at LCU.
