Chaps Travel to Oklahoma City for Series with Oklahoma Christian

LUBBOCK, Texas –  After back-to-back series splits, the Lubbock Christian University Baseball team looks to get back to their winning ways as they take on Oklahoma Christian in a four-game series. 

The Series Schedule – LCU (9-7) at Oklahoma Christian (3-11)
Dobson Baseball Field – Oklahoma City, Okla.
Friday (Mar. 1)  – 5 p.m.
Saturday (Mar. 2, DH)  – 12 p.m.
Saturday (Mar. 2, DH)  – 2 p.m.
Sunday (Mar. 3)  – 1 p.m.

Around the Horn
  • The Chaps come into the series with a 9-7 record after splitting a four-game series against Arkansas-Fort Smith last weekend.  
  • LCU is hitting .314 with 108 RBIs and 22 home runs this season.
  • The Chap pitching staff has a 7.93 ERA in 126 innings. Opponents are hitting .290 and have struck out 97 times.

The Series
Friday will be the 99th meeting all-time between the Chaps and Eagles. LCU has dominated the series going 73-24-1 against OC, including winning nine of the last ten matchups. The Chaps are 32-13-1 all-time on the road in Edmond.

  • OC is off to a 3-11 start to the season, dropping three games to St. Mary's last weekend.
  • The Eagles are in their 11th season with Head Coach Lonny Cobble at the helm.
  • OC has been outscored 143-81 this season.
  • Hunter Jones is leading the Eagles at the plate, hitting .326 with two homers and 14 RBIs this season.
