Offensive Explosion Leads to Series Split with #11 Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas - Senior Carson Ogilvie put together a stellar performance at the plate Sunday, hitting two homers to help propel the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals past the No. 11 Angelo State Rams 15-10.

Junior Andrew Duran (4-0) got the win for Lubbock Christian (20-10, 19-9). The right-hander went four innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on three hits, allowing three walks and striking out three.

Ogilvie went 3-for-5 at the plate, supplementing his two home runs with four RBIs. Junior Shea Bowen added to Ogilvie's awesome power-hitting performance by going 5-for-6 with three doubles and two RBI. Senior Ryan Ball also helped out for the Chaparrals, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and three RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Ogilvie got the Chaps on the board from the jump, starting the game with a lead-off homer. The Chaps added another run in the first to take a two run advantage.

LCU took a eight to six lead into the seventh frame before the Chap offense exploded hitting three home runs in the inning. The first was a solo shot by Nate Van Maanen, his fourth of the season. Ryan Ball hit the second homer of the inning with a dinger to right field. Ogilvie then hit his second bomb of the day to give LCU a 12 to six lead.

The Chaps added three more runs in the game and weathered an ASU scoring attack to bring home the 15 to 10 victory.
