LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 6, 2024) –No.33 Lubbock Christian University claimed their second 7-0 sweep of the season, as they cruised to a 7-0 Lone Star Conference dual victory Saturday over Western New Mexico. Originally scheduled to be played in Silver City, N.M., the match was moved to Las Cruces and WNMU served as the home team at NM State Tennis Center.

Braden Tipton (No.3-doubles) all won and with the same 6-4 result. Aguirre / Segura teamed for their team-leading 15
th win of the season (15-5).
All six singles matches went in favor of the Chaparrals. Vigneron (No.1-singles) and Segura (No.6-singles) needed a tie-breaking third set to determine their singles matches. No.38 Abamu (No.2-singles), Aguirre (No.3-singles), Ghedin (No.4-singles) and
Blas Ruiz Romero (No.5-singles) each won in straight sets.
Segura won his team-leading 20
th singles win this season (fifth consecutive win) and is 20-5 in all singles matches played. He is 13-2 in duals and 5-0 in No.6-singles matches. Abamu's win was his 17
th (17-10), and Ghedin's win marked his fourth consecutive win and 15
th of the season (15-8).
The Chaps won their second 7-0 sweep of the season and third since playing in the NCAA-era. They improved to 14-4 overall and they are 2-2 in LSC play. They remain on the road Sunday and will play an exhibition match Sunday against New Mexico State at 11 a.m. (Central).
