SPRING REPORT CARD: LCU Leads LSC in 4.0 Student-Athletes and With 189 Honorees

189 LCU Student-Athletes Named to Commissioner's Honor Roll List

LUBBOCK, Texas (June 25, 2024) – The Lubbock Christian University Athletic Department excelled in the classroom for the Spring 2024 semester, as it recorded its 24th consecutive semester with at least a 3.0 grade point average, which marks all semesters since the data starts from the 2012-13 school-term (LCU's first transitioning semesters from NAIA to NCAA Division II membership). In the process, the Lone Star Conference recognized a conference-leading 189 Lubbock Christian University individuals with Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades.
 
LCU student-athletes combined for a 3.43 GPA in the Spring semester, with 236 earning at least a 3.0 GPA and 101 claiming a perfect 4.0 GPA (all programs within the department and not only those part of the LSC).  The Lone Star Conference recognized 189 LCU student-athletes with Commissioner's Honor Roll honors during the semester. Lubbock Christian had 208 Commissioner's Honor Roll selections in the Fall 2023 semester, which ranked third in the LSC. LCU led the LSC in the Spring 2023 semester with 94 student-athletes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. It was their second consecutive semester leading the LSC in 4.0 student-athletes, as they had 97 in the fall semester. The department GPA (3.43) increased from a 3.31 GPA in the Fall 2023 semester.
 
The LCU women's basketball program, which led LCU in the fall with a 3.82 GPA, led all LCU programs in the Spring 2023 semester with a 3.80 GPA. Women's track & field led LCU with 24 student-athletes claiming Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades, with 13 completing the Spring semester with a 4.0 GPA. Women's soccer had 12 student-athletes report a 4.0 GPA.
 
Of LCU's 14 programs (cross country, indoor and outdoor track are combined into one sport per gender, and women's competitive cheer is also included despite it not being a NCAA sport), 13 had at least a 3.0 team GPA. Men's soccer had a 3.57 GPA to lead the male programs at LCU. For the combined fall and spring semesters, LCU's women's basketball led the department with a 3.81 GPA. Volleyball was next with a 3.68 GPA and men's basketball led the men's programs (cumulative for the two semesters) with a 3.46 GPA.
