LUBBOCK, Texas (January 23, 2025) – Grace Foster, Audrey Robertson, and Maci Maddox accounted for 54 of Lubbock Christian University's 72 points, powering the No. 14 Lady Chaparrals to a 72-52 victory over Oklahoma Christian in Lone Star Conference action Thursday night at Rip Griffin Center.
The Lady Chaps (17-3, 11-1), who extended their win streak to seven games, had three players score in double figures, led by Foster, who had 24 points, four steals and four blocks. Robertson tacked on 15 points and two steals and Maddox chipped in as well with 15 points and four assists.
The Lubbock Christian defense caused its share of mistakes in Thursday's game, forcing 14 Oklahoma Christian turnovers while committing 11. Those takeaways turned into 21 points on the other end of the floor (21-11 advantage in points off turnovers). Foster's four steals led the way individually for the Lady Chaps, who had 10 steals.
The Lady Eagles dropped their fourth consecutive contest and fall to 6-10 overall and 3-9 in the LSC. They received a career-high 22 points from Kate Bradley.
How It Happened
Lubbock Christian started out the scoring by going on a 10-0 run, culminating in a three from Robertson, to take an early lead with 4:04 left in the first quarter. The Lady Eagles missed their first 10 field goal attempts and were scoreless until Bradley made a layup with 3:07 left in the quarter. Lubbock Christian relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 20 points. Foster led LCU with seven points in the quarter and helped LCU to a 20-8 lead at quarter's end.
Lubbock Christian was able to extend their lead to 31-15 with a 6-0 run starting at the 6:26 mark in the second period, highlighted by a bucket from Foster. Lubbock Christian forced six Oklahoma Christian turnovers in the period and turned them into a 9-2 scoring advantage in points-off-turnovers. The advantage and seven points from Audrey Robertson helped LCU to a 38-24 halftime lead. Foster (12), Maddox (11) and Robertson (10) paced the LCU offense in the first half.
Following intermission, Lubbock Christian continued to expand its advantage, pushing it to 52-35 before going on a 10-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Maddox, to expand its lead further to 62-35 with three seconds to go in the third. Foster posted 12 points in the quarter, and the Lady Chaps had a 7-2 edge in points off of takeaways to take a 62-35 lead into the fourth quarter.
Kennedy Chappell was the lone starter to play more than a minute in the final quarter (Maddox and Foster did not play in the final frame), as LCU received seven points from their bench in the quarter. LCU was shooting 50% (22/44) in the game, as 6:38 remained, but they followed with a stretch of eight consecutive missed field goal attempts. Maddie Moyers had a three-pointer to lead LCU in scoring in the quarter.

» Grace Foster delivered a perfect 10-of-10 performance from the free-throw line in the contest. Foster, who holds the Rip Griffin Center record with a 13-of-13 free-throw shooting display on Nov. 5, 2023, against Adams State, recorded the sixth instance of a 10-of-10 or better free-throw outing at the venue. It also marked the second time she has gone at least 10-of-10 at Rip Griffin Center and the third time in her career she has attempted 10 or more free throws in a game without a miss. Since 2008, Foster and Nicole Hampton are the only Lady Chaps players to achieve three games shooting 100% from the line with at least 10 attempts.
» The Lady Chaps held the Lady Eagles to only 32.7 percent shooting from the field and to 13.3% (2/15) from three-point range. It marks the sixth time this season LCU has held an opponent to a three-point shooting percentage under 20%.
» The Lady Chaps never trailed in the game, marking the fifth time this season they never trailed in a game.
» Grace Foster, Audrey Robertson, and Maci Maddox combined to account for 75 percent of the Lady Chaps points. They combined to go 16-of-25 (64%) from the field and 16-of-16 from the free-throw line.
» Foster matched a career high with four steals.
» The Lubbock Christian defense forced 14 turnovers and had a 21-11 advantage in points-off-turnovers. The 21 points off turnovers marks consecutive games with at least 20 points-off-turnovers for the first time this season.
» The Lady Chaps were active in affecting shots on the defensive end, recording six blocks as a team. Four of the blocks were by Foster and a pair were by Reese Schumann.
» Grace Foster led the Lady Chaps with a game-high 24 points off a 6-of-8 shooting performance from the field and 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. Her 24 points marked the 11th time this season she has surpassed 20 points in a game this season.
» LCU remains unbeaten at home, as the win puts LCU with an 8-0 home record (13 consecutive home wins carrying over from last season).
» LCU defeated OC for a 22nd consecutive time and build their all-time series lead to 33-29 over the Lady Eagles. The Lady Chaps have won 29 of the last 32 meetings over the Lady Eagles, who have not defeated LCU since Feb. 17, 2011.
