LUBBOCK, Texas (October 15, 2025) – The schedule and rosters for the Lubbock Christian University fall intrasquad Ducks & Skunks series have been finalized, with game one of the series slated to start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Liberty Cooper baseball field.
The Chaps are forced to play away from their usual home as
renovations are still underway at Hays Field.
Game two will be played at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25 and the series will conclude on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Fans are welcome and encouraged to attend the games, which will be free of charge.
This will be the 55
th edition of Ducks & Skunks, which dates back to 1970 when then-LCC (Lubbock Christian College) head coach Larry Hays devised the series to celebrate the end of fall practices. The name Ducks & Skunks dates back to 1962, however, when LCC's first baseball team needed uniforms and the Post Cereal Mill generously donated some left-over uniforms with a Skunk on the front them.
The Chaparral roster has been split in half for the series, with pitching coach
Jermaine Van Buren leading the Red Skunks and hitting coach
Brandon Walker leading the Blue Ducks. The coaching staff will use the series to evaluate players heading into the winter offseason.
Lubbock Christian finished the 2025 season 34-23 overall, finishing fourth in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 30-18 league record. The Chaps reached the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season and sixth time in program history.
