LUBBOCK, Texas (October 3, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University head coach Steve Gomez has finalized the Lady Chaparrals' 2025–26 slate, tipping off the new campaign on a big stage in St. Joseph, Mo. LCU opens against Adams State in the prestigious D2CCA Women's Basketball Tip-Off Classic at Civic Arena (Nov. 1), setting the tone for another highly anticipated season.
 
The D2CCA Tip-Off Classic, hosted by the St. Joseph Sports Commission, is regarded as one of NCAA Division II's premier season-opening tournaments. LCU is making its fifth straight appearance in the event, having previously hosted in 2023. West Texas A&M hosted in 2024, the MIAA staged the 2022 edition in Kansas City, Mo., and Montana State Billings hosted in 2021. LCU opens against Adams State — a team they edged 69-65 in the 2023 Classic LCU hosted — before closing the weekend Nov. 2 against Missouri Western.
 
The D2CCA event is one of three tournaments/classics the Lady Chaps are scheduled to participate in. The rotating RMAC/Lone Star Conference Tip-Off Classic will be hosted by Colorado State Pueblo this season inside Massari Arena, and it will feature LCU facing Colorado Christian (Nov.14) and Colorado State Pueblo (Nov. 16) in Pueblo, Colo. The Lady Chaps are hosting the Lady Chap Invitational, with LCU hosting Southern Nazarene Nov. 21 and Southern Arkansas on Nov. 22 inside Rip Griffin Center.
 
For the fourth straight season, and the fifth time since 2012-13, Lubbock Christian will not compete in a Thanksgiving tournament. Instead, the Lady Chaps will travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Nov. 24 in a nonconference matchup before opening Lone Star Conference play Dec. 3 at home against UT Permian Basin. The 20-game league slate features 10 home and 10 road contests, with the LSC returning to a single-division format after three years of divisional play. The top eight teams will advance to the LSC Championship, set for March 6-8, 2026, in Frisco, Texas.
 
LCU has 29 regular season games on the schedule (12 at home) and hope to clinch a spot into the NCAA Division II postseason, which is scheduled to begin Mar. 13 with the South Central Region Tournament. The region champions advance to the Elite Eight Tournament, which is set for Mar.23-27 in Pittsburg, Pa. (in the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse).
 
It was previously announced that LCU will face Texas in an exhibition game at the Moody Center in Austin. The Longhorns have now set tipoff for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
