RICHARDSON, Texas (November 10, 2025) - Lubbock Christian senior goalkeeper
Connor Pettigrew was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second time Pettigrew has been recognized this season and the fifth time for a Chaparral to be honored by the conference overall. He also won the league's weekly award on Sept. 22. LCU has also had Offensive Player of the Week awards won by
Pedro Lucas and
Francisco Horta, along with a Defensive Player of the Week win by
Geoffroy Letienne.
In the one regular season game last week, Pettigrew had five saves in a road shutout of Sul Ross State. He finished the regular season with an conference-high 62 saves, and his play helped the Chaps go unbeaten in five of their last six matches entering the LSC tournament.
Pettigrew followed up the performance in the final regular season game with five saves against West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the LSC Tournament, helping Lubbock Christian to a postseason win for the first time since 2021.
The No. 3-seed Chaps now advance to the LSC Tournament Semi-finals, where they will take on No. 2-seed St. Edward's Hilltoppers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas.
