LUBBOCK, Texas (February 13, 2025) – Grace Foster delivered a dominant double-double performance with 21 points and 11 rebounds, becoming Lubbock Christian University's all-time leading scorer and the first Lady Chap to surpass 1,800 career points. The No. 11 Lady Chaparrals knocked down 50% of their shots from beyond the arc, powering past Angelo State 75-60 in a Lone Star Conference showdown at Rip Griffin Center. The victory marked LCU's 13th straight win, keeping them tied atop the LSC standings (17-1) while remaining unbeaten in both divisional play (12-0) and at home (12-0).
The Lady Chaps (23-3, 17-1) had four players score in double figures, led by Grace Foster, who put together a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds. Audrey Robertson added 16 points and Maci Maddox helped out with 12 points, four assists and two steals.
The LCU offense was impressive from downtown, making nine threes on 18 attempts. Robertson hit four treys for the Lady Chaps in the contest.
The Lubbock Christian defense held Angelo State shooters to just 37.9 percent from the field. ASU did find success inside, as they had 16 offensive boards (led to a 14-6 scoring advantage in second-chance scoring) and a 36-22 scoring advantage in the paint. The Belles did have two players in double-figures, as Madeline Stephens (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Keniah Williams (14 points, 10 rebounds) completed the task. The loss was the third consecutive loss for the Belles, who fall to 16-8 overall and 12-6 in conference. They fell into a four-way tie for second place in the division (7-5).
How It Happened
LCU's opening bucket was a milestone one, as Grace Foster hit a turnaround-jumper to move into sole possession of the top spot in career scoring for the Lady Chaparrals. After falling behind 11-10, Lubbock Christian went on an 8-0 run with 3:23 left in the first quarter to take an 18-11 lead. Behind a pair of three-pointers in the frame by Robertson, LCU entered the quarter break with an 18-15 advantage. Half of the Lady Chaps points in the period were from long range.
Lubbock Christian built the lead to 31-27 before going on a 5-0 run starting at the 2:09 mark in the second period, highlighted by a three from Robertson, to increase its lead to 36-27. Foster posted nine points in the quarter and led all scorers with 11 points in the first half to help lead the Lady Chaps to a 36-29 advantage heading into halftime.
The Lady Chaps enjoyed a 7-0 third-quarter run, punctuated by a three from Tia Johnson, to expand its lead further to 49-35 with 4:17 to go in the quarter. Foster (7) and Johnson (6) combined for 13 points in the quarter and the Lady Chaps entered the fourth quarter with a 57-44 edge.
ASU would not get any closer than 66-58 in the final frame. LCU kept their distance with a 7-0 run, finished off by Reese Schumann's layup, to grow the lead to 75-60 with 42 seconds to go in the contest Schumann produced six points in the final frame.

» Grace Foster notched an impressive double-double for the Lady Chaps with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The double-double performance was her ninth of the season and 26th of her LCU career.
» Grace Foster entered the game tied with Nicole Hampton (Gerlich) with 1,796 career points atop the leaderboard for career scoring in LCU history. Foster's 21 points places her with 1,817 career points, as she also became the first Lady Chaps member to surpass 1,800 career points. Gerlich presented Foster with a commemorative ball to commemorate the milestone during a halftime recognition during the men's game.
» The Lady Chaps made half of their attempts from three-point range, knocking down nine of 18 shots. It marked the fifth time this season LCU has shot 50% or better from long range in a game.
» The Lady Chaps held the Rams to only 37.9 percent shooting from the field. LCU is 18-1 this season when holding their opposition to under 40%.
» Lubbock Christian turned the ball over eight times while dishing out 17 assists.
» The Lady Chaps improved to 12-0 at home and they have won 17 consecutive home games (third-longest active home win streak in NCAA Div. II).
» LCU sweeps the regular season series over ASU and they are 19-7 all-time in the head-to-head series. The Lady Chaps improved to 10-2 in Lubbock against the Belles, and they have won seven of the last eight meetings in the Hub City.
