FIVE THINGS ABOUT UTPB
1 > UT Permian Basin sits in the upper portion of the Lone Star Conference standings at 11-7 in league play (tied for fifth), battling for a postseason spot after shaking a recent two-game skid with a win Thursday at Midwestern State. The Falcons have been strong at home (8-4) but have struggled to find consistency on the road (5-5).

2 > UTPB ranks 39th nationally and 4th in the Lone Star Conference for assist/turnover ratio with a value of 1.01. This indicates strong decision-making and ball control for the team, though they still trail conference leader Lubbock Christian (1.16) and national leader Colorado Mesa (1.48).

3 > UTPB's three-point shooting is a notable strength, ranking 27th nationally for three-pointers per game with 8.0. This high volume of three-point attempts is second in the conference, trailing only UT Tyler (9.0), and highlights their offensive versatility with Taysha Rushton ranking second in the LSC with 2.58 three-pointers per game.

4 > The Falcons excel in creating turnovers, ranking second in the LSC in turnover margin with a +4.79 margin and leading in turnovers forced per game (19.38).

5 > Taysha Rushton, a key player for UTPB, ranks 71st nationally for points per game (16.4, third in LSC) and 49th for total points (393). She has been a driving force for the team offensively, contributing significantly to their scoring efforts while also ranking highly in field goal attempts (350, leads the LSC and 19th nationally).

LCU is 30-1 all-time against the Falcons. The Lady Chaps won the first 29 games of the all-time series, but fell 57-52 to close last season's home-and-home series (Feb. 10, 2024 in Odessa). They returned to Odessa Jan. 16 to open this season's series and won 67-62 to improve LCU to 18-1 all-time against the Falcons as conference opponents (1-0 against the Falcons in conference postseason play). LCU has played six of their last nine games against UTPB in Odessa.
