The rankings, listed in alphabetical order, include Angelo State, Black Hills State, Colorado Mesa, CSU Pueblo, UCCS, Eastern New Mexico, Texas Woman's, UT Tyler and West Texas A&M. MILESTONING
Grace Foster continues to cement her place in Lubbock Christian University history, surpassing 1,500 career points—a milestone last reached by Allie Schulte on Feb. 3, 2022. Foster's 1,843 career points ranks eighth among active NCAA Division II players, and Thursday, she passed Nicole Hampton's all-time scoring mark (1,796 points from 2011-16) and also surpassed 1,800 career points. Additionally for Maddox, she passed Brittany Roberts (Hampton) and moved into fifth all-time in career assists (414) and needs eight to pass Allie Schulte (421 from 2017-22) to move into fourth all-time in program history.

BACK IN THE RANKINGS
Lubbock Christian University's women's basketball team entered the 2024-25 season ranked No. 17 in the D2CSC Women's Basketball Division II Top-25 Preseason Poll, a notable return to national prominence after an unusual preseason absence last year. They were receiving votes in the WBCA Preseason Poll (Division II).
LCU is ranked No. 12 in both the D2CSC and WBCA national polls this week. Despite securing two quality wins last week, the Lady Chaps dropped from No. 11 in the D2CSC poll, overtaken by Seton Hill, who did not compete during that period. This season, LCU holds a 1-3 record against nationally ranked opponents, with all matchups coming against top-10 programs.
FIVE THINGS ABOUT TAMIU
1 > TAMIU has struggled this season, sitting at 5-20 overall and 4-15 in Lone Star Conference play. With a six-game losing streak and just two home wins, they have been unable to gain momentum. Despite a few bright spots, their conference record eliminates them from LSC tournament contention. Their final games provide an opportunity to finish on a high note, but the season has largely been an uphill battle for a program coming off a 25-7 record last season.
2 > TAMIU ranks third in the LSC and 76th nationally in turnovers forced per game (18.64). The Dustdevils have a trio of players with at least 30 steals, led by Janiya Murphy, who has 36 steals.
3 > Their bench is providing solid support, ranking fifth in the LSC and 87th nationally with 21.7 bench points per game, helping with depth and scoring balance. TAMIU has played 25 games this season, but only one player has played in all 25 games (Trinity Chears). No Dustdevil has started more than 21 games and 12 different players have appeared in the starting lineup.
4 > TAMIU is among the top teams in free throw attempts per game, ranking fourth in the LSC and 122nd nationally (17.52 attempts). Jose Igherighe leads TAMIU with 107 attempts this season.
5 > Along with trips to the line, Igherighe leads the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game while maintaining a solid 40.0% field goal percentage. She also averages 7.0 rebounds per game, and she also provides strong defensive contributions with a team-high 34 blocks and 22 steals.
THE SERIES AGAINST TAMIU
LCU holds a 19-4 all-time record against TAMIU. The Lady Chaps won the first five matchups and had a 14-game winning streak in the series before falling 60-47 on Dec. 8, 2022, in Laredo. TAMIU has won the last three meetings. In Lone Star Conference play, LCU is 4-2 against TAMIU and previously dominated the series 12-1 when both teams were members of the Heartland Conference. Their most recent matchup took place at the LSC Championships in Frisco, Texas, where TAMIU secured a 90-80 triple-overtime victory (longest game in LSC Championship history) to place LCU with a 2-1 postseason record against TAMIU. The teams also met twice in the Heartland Conference Championships in Tulsa, with LCU winning both matchups—91-43 on Mar. 7, 2019, and 78-42 on Mar. 1, 2018.
