BREAKING IT DOWN
Monday night's matchup against TWU marks just the third time in program history that LCU will play a true road game in the NCAA Division II postseason. The Lady Chaps hold a 1-1 record in such games, having secured a 56-53 victory over Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo. (March 16, 2019) before falling 59-54 to West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas (March 14, 2022). LCU is also 1-1 all-time against No. 1 seeds in NCAA postseason play, having defeated Drury 69-60 (March 27, 2019) before the aforementioned 2022 loss to West Texas A&M.

Maci Maddox led with 22 points, while Grace Foster, Reese Schumann, and Audrey Robertson each added 12. LCU capitalized on turnovers (21 points) and shot 24-of-29 from the line to offset WT's 42-30 rebounding edge. Foster, held scoreless in the first half, scored 12 after halftime.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT TWU
1 >
The nation's top team in the two Div. II national rankings is 33-1 on the season and riding a 27-game win streak. They claimed a quarterfinal victory over Adams State (75-52) and a semifinals win over Eastern New Mexico (71-48) to advance to the Sweet 16.

2 >
Texas Woman's has showcased a stifling defense throughout the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament, holding both Adams State and Eastern New Mexico to their lowest point totals of the season. The Pioneers have now recorded 30 quarters this season where they held opponents to under 10 points, emphasizing their ability to smother opposing offenses. In back-to-back games, TWU never trailed or were tied at any point, demonstrating not only defensive prowess but also their control over the pace of play.

3 > While TWU has shown efficiency from beyond the arc, their strength lies in the paint. Across two tournament games, the Pioneers combined for 76 points in the paint and saw multiple players score in double figures. Ashley Ingram has led the charge with consecutive double-doubles, while contributions from Averee Kleinhans, Leila Patel, and key bench players like Jada Celsur highlight TWU's depth. Their ability to dominate inside, coupled with smart shot selection (shooting nearly 50% across both games), has propelled them to decisive victories.

4 > The Pioneers have jumped on opponents early, using energetic home crowds to fuel explosive first quarters. Against Adams State, TWU opened with an 11-0 run and finished the first quarter up 23-10. They followed a similar blueprint against ENMU, pouring in 26 first-quarter points and stretching the lead to 22 by halftime. Their ability to start strong has not only built early leads but also forced opponents into playing from behind, an uphill battle against TWU's relentless defense.

5 > Ashley Ingram stands out as Texas Woman's University's most impactful player based on her well-rounded statistics. She leads the Lone Star Conference in rebounds per game (9.2) and defensive rebounds per game (7.6), ranking 43rd and 13th nationally, respectively. Her ability to control the boards is crucial in TWU's elite rebounding margin (+7.5, 20th nationally). Ingram also showcases her offensive versatility, ranking third in the conference in total points (531) and fifth in scoring average (15.6 PPG). Additionally, her playmaking skills set her apart as she leads TWU in assists per game (4.0), ranking first in the conference. Her efficiency is another key asset, ranking sixth nationally in field goal percentage (58.2%).

THE SERIES AGAINST TWU
Lubbock Christian and Texas Woman's have faced off twice this season, with TWU coming out on top in both matchups. In their first meeting on December 6, TWU defended their home court with a 58-40 victory, capitalizing on LCU's offensive struggles. The rematch on March 9 was a much closer battle, as LCU pushed the game into overtime before ultimately falling 73-66 in Frisco, Texas at the LSC Championships (championship game). Despite falling short in both matchups against TWU this season, LCU continues to showcase strong individual performances and resilience. Maci Maddox leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game on an efficient 48% shooting, while Grace Foster adds 13.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. LCU displays impressive defensive efforts, particularly in the paint, where they dominate with 7.5 blocks per game, doubling TWU's total. The team also shoots a solid 77.3% from the free-throw line, converting key opportunities. Fouls have been a concern in the two prior matchups, as TWU has a 45-24 advantage in personal fouls, leading to a 47-22 advantage in free-throw attempts (TWU has a 34-17 advantage in scoring from the line in the series).

The meeting will mark the 14th all-time meeting between the two programs, with six prior meetings since the start of the 2022-23 season. TWU has won five of those six meetings, with the lone LCU win during the span occurring in San Angelo at the South Central Regional (62-55 on Mar. 10, 2023). LCU leads the all-time series 7-6, with the TWU holding a 3-2 advantage in meetings inside Kitty Magee Arena. TWU has won the prior two games in Denton, with Dec. 3, 2014 marking the last time LCU won in Denton.

The Pioneers dominated the extra period, opening with a 7-0 run as LCU struggled, shooting just 1-of-6 from the field.

Foster set a program record for most points in an LSC tournament appearance, totaling 68 across three games while averaging 22.7 points and 9.0 rebounds. She now leads LCU in all-time LSC tournament scoring with 151 points in eight games. Maddox, who earned LSC All-Tournament honors alongside Foster, finished the game tied for third in LCU history with 439 career assists.

The foul discrepancy played a role, with LCU being called for 21 fouls compared to TWU's nine, leading to a 22-7 free-throw disparity.
