LUBBOCK, Texas (April 19, 2025) – Lubbock Christian finished off the four-game series with Cameron without playing a full nine-inning game, run-ruling the Aggies 13-3 in seven innings on Saturday at Hays Field.
Â

Ryan Blackwell,
Nicklaus Baumbach,
Andrew Duran,
Lex Garcia,

Â
One of those seniors,
Andrew Duran, got the start on the mound, earning his fifth win of the season as the Chaps improved to 29-17 overall and 28-16 in Lone Star Conference play. LCU will enter the final weekend of the regular season with a two-game lead on the fourth place spot and a chance to move up to third.
Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Chaparrals scored in six different innings on the way to the victory, starting with the bottom of the first. LCU got back-to-back doubles from Bowen and McCool to leadoff the frame, scoring their first run after just two batters.
Â
They added a single run in the bottom of the second when
Kyle Lewis homered. It was the first of three-extra base for Lewis on the day, as he added two more doubles and a sacrifice fly. Lewis had an impressive weekend against the Aggies, batting .600 with eight runs scored and nine RBI.
Â
Lubbock Christian broke the game open in the bottom of the third, sending 13 hitters to the plate, chasing the CU starter and scoring six more runs. Baumbach, Lewis, Blackwell and McCool had RBI in the frame.
Kade York got the Chaps to double-digits in the fourth with a two-run single.
Â
The Chaps finally went scoreless in the fifth, and in the top of the sixth, the Aggies broke through with three runs. The rally might have continued, but Gutierrez gunned down a runner at the plate to end the inning. It was the third outfield assist of the weekend for LCU.
Â
LCU's offense got going again in the bottom of the sixth, scoring runs on a single from
Frayner Chavez and a sacrifice fly from McCool. Then in the bottom of the seventh, they loaded the bases with two outs before Bowen's single to center scored a run and enacted a run-rule.
