LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 8, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University softball standouts
Kendra Levesque and
Kristen Boyd have been named to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-South Central Region teams, as announced Thursday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Levesque was selected to the First Team at first base, while Boyd earned Second Team recognition at second base.
The duo becomes LCU's first NFCA All-Region honorees since 2023 and continues a tradition of excellence for the Lady Chaps, who now boast 17 all-region selections since becoming eligible in 2014.
Levesque, a graduate student from Albuquerque, N.M., is having a dominant season with her first career NFCA First Team selection. A First Team All-Lone Star Conference and Golden Glove award winner, Levesque leads LCU in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.395), doubles (23), home runs (12), RBI (56), and OPS (1.205). Her 23 doubles rank second nationally in NCAA Division II, and she is seventh in the LSC in slugging percentage (.740) and eighth in on-base percentage (.465). She has also produced a run in 12 of 14 opportunities (.857) with a runner on third and less than two outs and led the team with 15 multi-RBI games. Her 16-game hitting streak is the longest by a Lady Chap this season, and she reached base safely in 17 consecutive games (active streak). Levesque made national headlines earlier this year when she tied for the 16th-longest hit streak in Division II history with 10 consecutive hits as part of a stretch in which she reached base 17 straight plate appearances, earning NFCA National Player of the Week honors.
Boyd, a sophomore from Carbon, Alberta, has been one of the LSC's most consistent infielders in 2025. She has started in all 56 games at second base and currently ranks third on the team in batting average (.345), RBI (44), and OPS (1.012). A clutch performer, Boyd leads LCU with 18 two-out RBI and is hitting .460 (29-for-63) with runners in scoring position. She has produced 18 multi-hit and 12 multi-RBI games, while ranking second on the team and 12th in the conference with 98 assists. In league play, she hit .330 with 33 RBI and a .982 OPS.
LCU has student-athletes receiving NFCA All-Region honors for the first time since 2023, which is when they had a single-season high of four. The Lady Chaps have 17 All-Region selections by the NFCA since the program became eligible for the honor in 2014 (Levesque becomes the eighth First Team selection for LCU).
