- This will be the first-ever meeting between Lubbock Christian and UT Dallas, with the latter entering their first year of Division II competition, still in their probation period
- Lubbock Christian has had a strong defensive start to the season, ranking fourth in the Lone Star Conference in opponent scoring average. They are allowing just 1.0 goals per game so far. LCU opponents are averaging just 10.0 shots per game and putting only 33 percent of those on goal. In last week's win against Adams State, they did not allow a single shot on goal
- Adam Davison, Letienne, Joao Catafesta, Aron DePaula, Nunez, and Monticelli all played the full 90 minutes on Thursday night. Letienne, Catafesta and Monticelli have all played at least 240 minutes already this season
SCOUTING THE COMETS
- UT Dallas earned its first win of the season on Thursday, beating West Texas A&M 1-0 in Canyon behind a goal from Callum Thompson
- Thompson's goal was the first of the season for the Comets, who averaged a whopping 2.94 goals per game in 2024 as they went 13-1-2 against a Division III schedule
- Jason Hirsch leads the UTD men's soccer program and is in his 12th season with the team. He is a three-time American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year
- UTD has used a different goalkeeper in each of their three matches so far. Ryder Claborn was in net for the win, making four saves against the Buffs
- Because they are still in transition to the Division II level, UT Dallas is not eligible for postseason competition during the 2025-26 athletic season
