Lubbock Christian has won two straight games after a defeat of Adams State on Thursday and is looking for a third-straight as the team heads to Durango Saturday for a matchup with Fort Lewis at 8 p.m. CT.
 
LADY CHAP NEWS AND NOTES
  • Ella Spiller notched her third goal of the season (and of the week) on Thursday in the win against the Grizzlies. She is already closing in on her single-season total of five in 2024. The Coppell, Texas native is third on the team in shots, but has put a whopping 71.4 percent of them on goal
  • LCU is looking for its first three-game winning streak of the Alistair Caldwell era. The Lady Chaps won back-to-back games twice last season, but they have not won three straight since Sept. 25 – Oct. 2 of 2021
  • Goalkeeper Emma Wright earned the first solo shutout of her collegiate career against Adams State, making a pair of saves. She now has a goals against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .692 for the season
  • Junior Casey Storer is the only LCU field player to be on the field for every minute of every game so far this season. In 2024, she was third on the team with 1,356 minutes played
  • Journey Curs is knocking on the door of her first goal of the season. The sophomore midfielder is second on the team n shots (7) and shots on goal (4).
 
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
  • Fort Lewis isn't quite ranked, but they did receive votes in the first United Soccer Coaches poll of the 2025 season
  • FLC is 2-0-1 on the young season, most recently beating Eastern New Mexico 5-0
  • Head Coach Damian Clarke is in his 14th season at the helm of the program, boasting a 148-68-58 all-time record
  • Trinity Lujan has seen the majority of the action in goal for the Skyhawks, making 10 saves in 254 minutes of action
  • FLC went 9-6-6 in 2024, advancing all the way to the RMAC Tournament Championship game before losing to Colorado School of Mines
