California Dreamin'

Coach Talk
- LCU head coach Daren Hays is in his 16th season at the helm of the Lady Chaps.
- Hays is LCU's winningest softball head coach, entering the weekend with a softball record of 588-223.
- Along with surpassing 575 coaching wins in softball, Hays had surpassed 300 wins as a collegiate baseball head coach. He spent eight seasons as the LCU baseball head coach and compiled a 356-163 record. Combine the two sports and Hays has coached in 1,282 total games at LCU.
Looking at CSUDH
- The Toros are 5-4 after opening the season last weekend in Irvine, Calif. at the Concordia Kickoff Classic going 3-2. Friday, they went 0-2 in Lake Elsinore, which included a 10-inning 13-11 loss to Colorado Christian.
- Last season, CSUDH went 31-25 overall and 18-18 in the CCAA. They fell in the opening round of the CCAA Tournament.
Looking at CSUSB
- The Coyotes enter Saturday with a 4-3 record, with a 1-1 mark in Lake Elsinore, as they defeated LSC foe Western New Mexico 5-3 before falling 4-0 to Colorado Mesa.
- Last season, CSUSB went 26-27 (18-18 in the CCAA). Like CSUDH, their season ended in a loss to open the CCAA Tournament (fell to Sonoma State).
