RICHARDSON, Texas (April 19, 2026) –
Maximiliano Dufey of Lubbock Christian University has been named to the Lone Star Conference Men's Golf All-Academic Team, the league office announced Sunday.
A senior from Santiago, Chile, Dufey becomes just the second player in program history to earn the honor and the first since
Zach Burkholder, who was a two-time selection in 2020 and 2021 and claimed the conference's Academic Golfer of the Year award in both seasons.
Dufey, a Business major, carries a near-perfect grade-point average and was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll during the 2025-26 academic year. His selection recognizes excellence both in the classroom and on the course, as he has been a consistent contributor to LCU's lineup throughout the season.
On the course, Dufey has compiled a 73.1 scoring average during the 2025-26 campaign, ranking No. 42 in the South Central Region. He has recorded one top-five finish and four top-20 finishes this season, highlighted by a fifth-place showing at the San Juan Intercollegiate in Melrose, Colorado. He has also earned Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week honors during the season.
Dufey joins a five-player All-Academic Team that includes Seth Bearden of Midwestern State, who was named the LSC Academic Golfer of the Year, along with Kongpop Kaikaew and Baptiste Touchard of St. Mary's and Tyler Durden of UT Dallas.
The LSC Men's Golf All-Academic Team is selected by a vote of the conference's sports information directors and honors student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA while demonstrating significant athletic contributions.
