GOODYEAR, Ariz. (September 15, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University shaved two strokes off its opening-round score Tuesday and closed the Shootout at Estrella with a 36-hole total of 628 (+52), finishing 11th in the 16-team field at the Golf Club of Estrella.
 
The Lady Chaparrals followed Monday's 315 with a final-round 313 on the par-72, 5,901-yard layout, with Abby Archunde completing LCU's season-opening event tied for 12th individually at 148 (+4).
 
Archunde, who opened the tournament with a career-low 2-under 70, closed with a 78 (+6) Tuesday. Her two-round total of 148 placed her among the top 15 in the 87-player field and capped a tournament in which she played the par-5 holes at 1-under, averaging 4.88 strokes on those holes. She also finished with 25 pars and four birdies across the 36 holes. Her two-round total of 148 was a career-best for a 36-hole event.

Nadalie Cannell matched her opening-round 77 with another 77 Tuesday to finish tied for 33rd at 154 (+10). Cannell led LCU with 26 pars for the tournament and played the par-3 holes at even-par across the two rounds, one of the strongest areas of her performance.
Hailey Hays improved by one stroke in the final round, carding a 79 after opening with an 80 to finish tied for 56th at 159 (+15). Hays recorded 19 pars and two birdies during the tournament.

Bailey Rainbolt made LCU's largest day-to-day improvement, rebounding from an opening-round 88 with a 79 Tuesday. Her nine-stroke improvement gave her a 167 (+23) total and a tie for 78th. Marin Hallam rounded out the Lady Chaparrals' lineup with rounds of 93 and 94 for a 187 total.
 
LCU finished the tournament with 96 pars and nine birdies as a team. The Lady Chaps averaged 3.58 on par-3 holes, 4.50 on par-4s and 5.55 on par-5s over the two rounds.
 
Cal State San Marcos claimed the team title after following an opening-round 286 with a 287 for a 573 total, four strokes ahead of Cal State LA at 577. Point Loma finished third at 587, while UT Dallas placed fourth at 594 and Vanguard rounded out the top five at 596.

Individually, Cal State San Marcos' Ellaclair Leedom surged to the tournament title with a final-round 67, finishing at 137 after an opening 70. Point Loma's Summer Schafer placed second at 141 following rounds of 72 and 69, while Carmella Carlisi of Cal State San Marcos and Rilee Crosby of Cal State LA tied for third at 142.

While LCU did not match last season's fourth-place finish at the event, this year's appearance featured a significant individual breakthrough, as Archunde fired a 2-under 70 in the opening round for her first collegiate round under par and the lowest round of her career.
 
The Lady Chaparrals return to competition Sunday and Monday at the Westminster Wasatch Invitational, hosted by Westminster University at Glenmoor Golf Club in South Jordan, Utah.
