SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (September 20, 2026) – Nadalie Cannell opened Lubbock Christian University's second tournament of the season with a 1-over-par 73 Sunday, placing herself tied for seventh individually after the first round of the Westminster Wasatch Invitational presented by Canyon View Credit Union at Glenmoor Golf Club.
 
Competing on the par-72, 6,147-yard layout, Cannell paced the Lady Chaparrals through the opening 18 holes of the 36-hole event with one of the strongest rounds of her collegiate career.
 
Cannell turned in 37 on the front nine before playing the back nine in even-par 36. She recorded four birdies during the round, tying for third-most in the field, while also playing Glenmoor's four par-3 holes at 1-under. Her 2.75 par-3 scoring average was tied for third-best among the tournament field.
 
The sophomore's four birdies accounted for more than one-third of LCU's 11 birdies during the opening round, a team total that tied Texas A&M International for fourth-most in the tournament behind Point Loma's 15 and the 13 recorded by both Westminster and Montana State Billings.
 
Cannell's 73 also marked the best opening-round score of her collegiate career. Her career-low round remains a 70, but Sunday's 1-over performance established a new personal best for a first round of a collegiate tournament.
 
Abby Archunde followed Cannell with a 4-over 76 and sits tied for 25th entering Monday's final round. Archunde played the course's 10 par-4 holes at just 1-over, averaging 4.10 strokes and tying for sixth-best in the field in par-4 scoring.
 
Archunde went out in 38 and matched that total on the back nine. Her round included steady play across the par-4s, continuing an early-season stretch in which she has supplied LCU with a pair of counting rounds at the top of the lineup.
 
Kilee Ivy opened with an 82 (+10) and is tied for 63rd, while Hailey Hays carded an 83 (+11) and sits tied for 65th. Freshman Chace Atkinson rounded out LCU's lineup with an 88 (+16) in her collegiate debut.
 
LCU was especially productive on Glenmoor's par-3 holes, averaging 3.25 as a team and playing the four short holes at 5-over, ranking seventh in the field in that category. Cannell led that effort at 1-under, while LCU also generated 11 birdies as a team during the opening round.
 
The Lady Chaps totaled 29 bogeys Sunday. Their birdie production ranked among the strongest totals in the field and helped offset some of the higher numbers accumulated during the opening 18 holes.
 
Point Loma set the pace statistically throughout the opening round, leading the field in par-3 scoring at 1-under and par-4 scoring at 7-over while also playing the par-5 holes at 4-under. The Sea Lions additionally led all teams with 15 birdies and 62 pars.
 
Cannell enters Monday's final round within the top 10 individually after posting LCU's best score of the opening day, while Archunde remains within striking distance of the upper portion of the leaderboard at four strokes over par.
 
The Westminster Wasatch Invitational marks LCU's second event of the 2026-27 season after the Lady Chaparrals opened the year at the Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz., where Archunde led LCU with a tied-for-12th finish.
 
The Lady Chaparrals return to Glenmoor Golf Club on Monday for the second and final round of the 36-hole event.
