Schedule Doesnt Get Easier For Lady Chaps

LCU Completing Series of Games Against Ranked Opponents

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•   The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals continue a regular season-ending four-game road trip Saturday at No. 25 St. Edward's.  So far LCU is 0-1-0 on the current trip.
•   LCU, entering the game 8-3-3 overall and 5-1-0 in conference, had an eight-game unbeaten streak snapped Thursday with a 5-0 loss at No.14 Dallas Baptist Thursday.
•   The Lady Chaps, who went 6-4-0 on the road last season, are 1-3-1 on the road this season and are 16-15-1 all-time on the road under head coach Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 26-25-3 on the road.
 
STORY LINES
•   This week's games (Thursday at No.14 DBU and Saturday's game at No.25 SEU) marks the second time in program history LCU will play back-to-back games against ranked competition. LCU last faced ranked opponents in consecutive games on Oct. 20 and Oct. 22, 2011 when they faced No.15 Oklahoma City and No.25 Southern Nazarene. Updated from Thursday's result, LCU is 0-8-0 all-time against ranked opponents (0-3-0 all-time under Denning). LCU's last four games against ranked opponents have been on the road and they are 0-5-0 all-time against ranked opponents on the road. LCU is 0-1-0 all-time against teams ranked No.25.
•   LCU went from consecutive shutout wins prior to Thursday to suffering their third shutout loss of the season with their 5-0 loss to DBU. The road shutout marked the 11th time LCU had been shutout on the road in program history (third this season).
•   When LCU loses, they lose big. They have been outscored a combined 14-0 in their three losses this season. LCU had only lost a game by three or more goals on eight occasions prior to this season all-time.
•   The Lady Chaps lead the Heartland Conference in points (100), goals (38) and in assists (24). Their 100 points ranks 26th nationally.  They also rank 19th nationally in goals per game (2.7) and 21st points per game (7.1).
•   Defender Kate O'Gara leads the Lady Chaps in conference scoring with 9 points off three goals and three assists.
•   The Lady Chaps are 18-5-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games, 8-3 all-time in Heartland Conference road games.
 
SCOUTING SEU
•   The Hilltoppers are 10-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in conference on the season and enter Saturday's play following a 2-0 win over Texas Permian-Basin.
•   SEU went 15-5-0 last season (9-0-0 in conference). At home, they went 8-3-0 last season and is 4-1-0 at home this season.
•   St. Edward's is the Heartland Conference preseason favorites this season, leading the preseason poll.
•   Katie Donahue (4g,3a) leads the team in points with 1. Sabrina Cole joins her co- leading the team in goals with four.
•   SEU leads the conference and ranks fifth in the nation in shutout percentage (69.2%) and is 19th in GAA (0.54). SEU has shutout wins in their prior two games.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH SEU

•   SEU leads the all-time series 2-0-0.
•   Last season (Oct. 25, 2014), the two teams met in Lubbock and LCU fell 2-1 with Mikayla Engel scoring the game winning goal with two seconds left in regulation. Sanchez scored for LCU.
•   Oct. 28, 2013 marked the one and only prior visit to Austin by LCU. No.17 SEU won the game 3-0 and did not allow a shot on goal.
