LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (8-5-4, 5-4-4) vs.
ST. MARY'S (7-7-3, 5-6-2)
Tuesday, October 27 – 6 p.m.
Sigma Beta Chi Field – San Antonio, Texas

LADY CHAP HEADERS
  • In the final game of the 2026 regular season, Lubbock Christian University will head to San Antonio to take on St. Mary's at 6 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field
  • The Lady Chaps need one more win this season to reach their highest win total since 2019 when they had their program-best record of 13-5-2
  • Senior defender Maya Quinones scored the first goal of her collegiate career on Saturday, becoming the 12th different Lady Chap to find the back of the net this season
  • With a 5-4-4 league record, the Lady Chaps have 19 points in LSC play and are tied with UT Dallas for the seventh place spot in the league standings
  • St. Mary's has seven wins this season and four of them have come on their home field, including victories against Lynn, UT Permian Basin, UT Dallas and Angelo State

PLAYOFF PICTURE
Even though there's only one game left in the regular season for every Lone Star Conference team, there is still a lot left up for grabs in the league standings. The top eight teams will advance to the conference tournament, and the Lady Chaps themselves could finish anywhere between sixth and 10th in the standings. A win would guarantee them a spot in the tourney, but their seeding would be determined by the outcome of other games. A loss would mean missing the tournament, and a tie would leave their postseason fate up to other games. If the Lady Chaps finish in seventh, they will host an LSC Tournament game on Friday night at the LSC Soccer & Track Complex.

OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
The Lady Chaps broke a long scoreless streak on Saturday when they found the back of the net in the fourth minute against the Hilltoppers. With two scores in the game, they are now averaging 1.71 goals per game, which is tied for the sixth-best mark in the conference. The opening goal came from Addyson McElhaney, which was her second of the season, and senior Maya Quinones scored for the first time ever. Now 12 LCU players have scored this year. The Lady Chaps are averaging 12.2 shots per game and have put 49.8 percent of those shots on goal. Journey Curs leads the team in goals and points with five and 14 apiece.

HAPPY HELPERS
On their 29 goals scored this season, Lubbock Christian has recorded 24 assists, which is the fourth-most in the LSC. They are averaging 1.412 helpers per game. Eleven different Lady Chaps have recorded assists this season, including seven players with at least two. Curs and Claire Jacobson co-lead the team in that category with four apiece. Lauren Rotan has the only multi-assist game by an LCU player this season, recording a pair in the 8-2 win against Western Colorado.

FIRST THINGS FIRST
For the first time all season, the Lady Chaps lost a game in which they scored first when they fell 3-2 to the Hilltoppers. McElhaney's goal at the 3:30 mark was the earliest scored by the Lady Chaps since 2023, but SEU came back to drop LCU to 7-1-0 in games where they score first and 4-1-0 in games where they lead at halftime. LCU's one comeback win this season came at Oklahoma Christian, when the allowed a goal in the sixth minute but came back to win 2-1.

ALL THE WRIGHT PLACES
Senior goalkeeper Emma Wright made two saves in the loss to St. Edward's. Wright, who has been named the LSC Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season, has made 71 saves, which ranks sixth in the conference. Her .789 save percentage is third best among league keepers with at least 70 saves. She has faced 204 shots, posting a 1.21 goals against average and recording five shutouts. Wright surpassed the 100-save mark for her career earlier this year and is now up to 165 in 43 collegiate games.

ROAD JOURNAL
The Lady Chaps have lost just twice on the road so far this year, beating Western Colorado, CSU-Pueblo and Oklahoma Christian and UT Permian Basin. Thirteen of the Lady Chaps' 29 goals scored this season came in road games, but more than half of those were scored in the one win at Western Colorado. LCU went 4-3-1 away from home in 2025, marking the first time they were better than .500 on the road since 2019. Sigma Beta Chi Field was completed in the fall of 2013 and features seating for 550 fans, lights for night games and a natural grass playing surface.

SCOUTING THE RATTLERS
  • St. Mary's is coming off a 1-0 road win at Eastern New Mexico and a 0-0 tie against UT Tyler last week
  • The Rattler offense is led by Helen Lazaro, who is tied for the Lone Star Conference lead with 13 goals and is second in the league in points with 29
  • Callie Gilliam and Molly Lyons have split time in goal for StMU, with Gilliam posting a slightly better save percentage and five more saves in 200 more minutes of playing time
  • Kamrynn Martinez also has nine goals for the Rattlers so far this year, but only five more StMU players have found the back of the net
  • St. Mary's is allowing 1.50 goals per games, which ranks them 10th in the conference in defense

A WIN ON TUESDAY WOULD:
- Be the 148th in Lubbock Christian program history (147-110-41)
- Be the 25th under head coach Alistair Caldwell (24-21-10)
- Be the Lady Chaps'  ninth win against St. Mary's in the all-time series since they first met in 2010 (8-7-4) and their first victory over the Rattler since 2021
