WHERE THE HEART IS
Lubbock Christian is currently 4-2-2 at home after going 4-4-1 at the friendly confines last year. This is the final game at home of the 2026 season, and if LCU wins it will be their most home victories since 2019, when they won a program-high eight. The LCU Soccer & Track Complex was completed in August of 2020 and features an AstroTurf playing surface, a Musco lighting system to allow for night games and stadium seating for 500 fans. LCU's women's team has an all-time record of 74-38-25 all-time in home games. They have only posted losing records at home twice in 15 seasons. They did not lose a home game in 2015 (7-0-2).
Â
LOOKING AT THE LONE STAR
With just two games left in the regular season, reigning league champion Dallas Baptist is atop the standings with 34 points and an 11-0-1 record. Texas Woman's is right behind, followed by Midwestern State with 31 points. If MSU and DBU both win Saturday, then the matchup between the two teams next Tuesday will decide this year's league title. The Lady Chaps currently find themselves in seventh place, three points ahead of UT Dallas and just a point behind West Texas A&M. The top eight teams by points at the end of the regular season will advance to the LSC Tournament. The seven seed will host the eight seed for a play-in game on Oct. 30 to start the postseason.
Â
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
Despite the lack of scoring in the last three contests, Lubbock Christian is still averaging 1.69 goals per game this season, which is tied for sixth-most in the conference. They have gotten goals from 11 different players the year, and four other Lady Chaps have recorded at least one point on an assist. LCU scored eight goals in one game earlier this season, which was the second-most in program history. They are averaging 12.1 shots per game and have put 48.5 percent on goal.
Â
MULTI-MADNESS
There have been 20 multi-goal games by players in the Lone Star Conference this season, and four of them have come by Lady Chaps. In the 8-2 win against Western Colorado on September 3, two different LCU players scored twice –
Journey Curs and
Logan Holloway. Curs repeated the multi-goal feat on October 3 against Eastern New Mexico, getting four of her team-leading five goals in those two games alone.
Kaslee Roskelley netted both goals in LCU's 2-1 win against Oklahoma Christian on September 12.
Â
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Lubbock Christian has been at their best this season when they are the first team to find the back of the net. LCU is 7-0-0 on the season in games in which they score first, including 4-0-0 in games where they lead at halftime. Conversely, they are 1-4-2 in games where their opponent scores first. Their one comeback win this season came at Oklahoma Christian, when the allowed a goal in the sixth minute but came back to win 2-1.
