Chaps Facing Falcons For Final Conference Game

LCU Looking To End Conference Schedule On a High Note

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (6-7-2, 2-5-0) at TEXAS-PERMIAN BASIN (4-11-0, 4-6-0)
Saturday, October 31st – Noon
UTPB Soccer Field (Odessa, Texas)

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•   The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals play their final two games of the season this week, facing Texas-Permian Basin for their final conference game Saturday and wrapping up the season Monday at West Texas A&M. Both games are on the road.
•   The Chaps are 6-7-2 on the season and coming off a 2-0 loss Sunday at No.16 St. Edward's. They need to avoid a loss if they hope to finish with a winning record on the season.
•   LCU is 4-3-0 this season in road competition. They are 9-5-0 on the road all-time under head coach Lee Williams (5-2-0 under Williams in conference road games) and they are 29-17-5 all-time in road play.

STORY LINES
•   LCU enters this week knowing their fate. LCU's loss Sunday eliminated them from postseason contention for the first time since 2010 (in a year they were eligible for postseason).
•   The Chaps have out-shot their opponent in all but three games this season. LCU leads the Heartland Conference in shots per game (18.9), which ranks eighth nationally.
•   Lubbock Christian has struggled offensively over the prior 13 games. LCU scored five goals in each of their first two games, but since then, they have not been able to produce more than two goals in a game. The Chaps are 1-6-0 this season when scoring less than two goals. The one win in the situation came Thursday at DBU (1-0 win).
•   Head coach Lee Williams has been a little busy since the Chaps road game Sunday. He returned home and assisted his wife Stephanie deliver their second daughter, Nia Eirlys, who was born Monday at five pounds and 11 ounces.
•   The Heartland Conference announced their weekly honors for men's soccer and Lubbock Christian University's Tommy Fogarty-Cameron was honored as Offensive Player of the Week. Fogarty-Cameron led LCU to a 2-1-0 week with road wins at Eastern New Mexico and Dallas Baptist. The midfielder tallied two goals and an assist for a five-point week. He scored a goal in each victory, with his goal at Dallas Baptist serving as the game winning goal in a 1-0 win. The honor is the first of Fogarty-Cameron's career and he is the first LCU player to receive Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors this season. He ranks tied for third in the conference in game winning goals (2), sixth in points (16), points per game (1.1), assists (4) and shots with 37.
•   The Chaps are 16-7-0 all-time in Heartland Conference contests and 10-2-0 all-time in Heartland Conference road games.

SCOUTING UTPB
•   The Falcons are 4-11-0 on the season (4-6-0 in conference) after falling 1-0 Thursday to Dallas Baptist. The loss extended their losing streak to six games.
•   UTPB is coming off a 2-13-1 season a year ago. They went 0-8-0 at home last season and are 1-4-0 this season at home. The Falcons look to shake a two-game losing streak at home.
•   The Heartland Conference has UTPB selected eighth in the conference preseason polls.
•   Nathan Cotterell leads UTPB with eight goals and 18 points.
•   Cotterell has 37 career goals, which marks him tied for fifth among active career leaders in goals in NCAA Division II.

SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB

•   LCU has a 4-1-0 all-time series advantage over UTPB
•   The two teams are meeting twice this season (for a third consecutive season) with the first meeting serving as a non-conference game and the second going towards their Heartland Conference standings. The first meeting was Sept. 25 in Lubbock and UTPB won 2-1 with an overtime goal by Rafael Moreira. It was their first ever win over LCU.
 •   LCU is 2-0-0 against UTPB when serving as a conference game. LCU won 6-3 in their prior visit to Odessa (Sept. 25, 2014) with a hat trick from Lennard Hansen.
