History between Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State
The Mustangs and LCU have faced off a total of 40 times dating to 1978, with the Lady Chaps holding a 26-14 edge all-time. LCU has won eight of the last nine meetings, including the last three.

Lubbock, Texas (September 26, 2015) – Lubbock Christian University volleyball earned its second sweep in as many days by defeating Midwestern State in three sets (25-11, 25-22, 25-13) Saturday afternoon inside the Rip Griffin Center. Following last night's 3-0 victory over Texas-Permian Basin, the Lady Chaparrals (7-6, 3-2 Heartland) had their best performance at the net of the season against the Mustangs (4-9, 0-2 Lone Star), hitting .283 with 37 kills and a season-low 11 errors. Emily Hanaway notched her seventh double-digit kill performance with 11, while teammates Christiana Tavo and Kacey Deterding each contributed seven. Ariel Froeschl registered five kills and five blocks. LCU held MSU to a dismal .010 attack percentage and forced 26 attack errors.
Powell, French earn weekly conference accolades
Waco, Texas (November 9, 2015) – Lubbock Christian University's Mallory Powell claimed her third Heartland Conference Setter of the Week honor of the season and Kelsie French tallied her second Libero of the Week award for the Lady Chaparrals, as announced by the league office on Monday. Powell collected a pair of double-doubles with her match-highs of 35 assists and 12 digs in a sweep over St. Edward's November 5 and a match-best 42 digs along with 14 digs in a 3-0 win against Dallas Baptist November 7. The redshirt sophomore averaged 12.8 assists and 4.33 digs per set on the week while also adding five kills, two blocks and a service ace. In the pair of wins for LCU, French totaled a pair of double-digit dig performances, including  a game-high 23 digs against Dallas Baptist in the three-set victory. The redshirt freshman leads the conference in digs per set and total digs while ranking sixth and 11th nationally, respectively.
Johnson enters elite company as LCU produces vital win
Lubbock, Texas (October 29, 2015) – Maddie Johnson achieved a Lubbock Christian University volleyball milestone with her game-high 13 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Dallas Baptist on Saturday afternoon inside the Rip Griffin Center, as she became the 11th player to eclipse the 1,000-kill mark as a Lady Chaparral while LCU rose above the Patriots in the conference standings for the third spot. Johnson joins teammate Kacey Deterding in the exclusive club, as Deterding accomplished the same feat on September 29th of this season at Wayland Baptist. Mallory Powell tallied another double-double with 42 assists and 14 digs, and Kelsie French handled a game-best 23 digs.
