LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU begins a season-ending five-match road trip Friday at Texas Woman's after closing its home schedule with a 3-1 loss to West Texas A&M on Pink Out Night. The Lady Chaparrals enter the weekend 10-12 overall and 6-6 in Lone Star Conference play, sitting 11th in the league standings. Following Friday's match in Denton, LCU travels to DBU on Saturday before road matches at UT Permian Basin, Angelo State and Midwestern State complete the regular season. The top nine teams in the LSC standings qualify for the LSC Championships (top seed hosts).

- The Lady Chaps finished the home portion of their schedule at 4-4 and now face a stretch in which every remaining regular-season match will be played away from Rip Griffin Center. LCU is 2-5 in true road matches this season but 2-2 in LSC road contests, earning conference victories at Sul Ross State and Cameron. The Lady Chaps are averaging 11.27 kills, 10.32 assists, 16.45 digs, 1.36 aces and 1.64 blocks per set on the road.

- Camdyn Sears enters the road trip coming off her second triple-double in five days. Sears recorded a career-high 12 kills, 19 assists and 11 digs against West Texas A&M after posting 11 kills, 13 assists and 15 digs against Texas A&M International four days earlier. She has now produced double-digit kills in three consecutive matches after never previously reaching double figures in her collegiate career.

- Sears' performance against West Texas A&M marked her 12th double-double of the season and 35th of her LCU career. She has recorded double-doubles in three straight matches and four of the last five. Sears now has 579 assists, 212 digs and 88 kills while hitting .316. She averages 8.04 assists per set, ranking fifth in the LSC, and is one of only seven NCAA Division II players credited with a triple-double this season. Her two triple-doubles rank second nationally behind UT Dallas' Scarlette Young.

-  Sears, the reigning LSC Setter of the Week, has also become one of LCU's most efficient attackers in conference play. Through 12 LSC matches, she is hitting .375 with 62 kills against only five attack errors while averaging 1.55 kills per set. She has 328 assists and 115 digs in league action and averages 8.20 assists and 2.88 digs per set against conference opponents.

- Freshman Kayson Reeves continues to establish herself as one of the league's top blockers. Reeves matched her season high with eight blocks against West Texas A&M and now has 79 total blocks while averaging 1.10 per set. That average ranks fourth in the LSC and 34th nationally, while her 79 total blocks rank sixth in the conference. In LSC play alone, Reeves is averaging 1.23 blocks per set with 49 total blocks in 40 sets.

- LCU has now recorded 12 team blocks in consecutive matches, doing so against Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M. The 24 combined blocks are the Lady Chaps' highest total over a two-match stretch since producing 34 (over two consecutive matches) during the 2019 season. LCU is averaging 1.99 blocks per set overall, ranking sixth in the LSC, and that number rises to 2.03 per set in conference play.

- Hope Gonsioroski continues to provide consistent production on the outside. She matched her career high with 11 kills against West Texas A&M, marking her fifth double-figure kill performance of the season, with all five coming during the last seven matches. Gonsioroski is averaging 2.53 kills per set overall and 2.77 in conference play, where she has 86 kills in 31 sets.

- Camryn Blair remains LCU's season leader with 205 kills and 231.5 points. Blair is averaging 2.97 kills per set overall and 3.03 in conference action, where she has a team-high 121 kills. She ranks 12th in the LSC in kills per set and 10th in attacks per set at 9.01.

- LCU continues to perform more efficiently in Lone Star Conference play than its overall numbers indicate. The Lady Chaps are hitting .217 in league matches while holding opponents to .192 and have committed 49 fewer attack errors than their conference opponents, 181-230. LCU also owns advantages of 73-50 in service aces and 81-75 in total blocks through 12 LSC matches.

- Serving remains another area in which LCU has maintained an edge. The Lady Chaps have 120 aces compared with 105 by opponents overall and average 1.67 per set, ranking seventh in the LSC. In conference play, LCU averages 1.83 aces per set compared with 1.25 by opponents. Kyla Farnan and Ramsey Clark co-lead the current road roster with six aces (each) in away matches, with Sears not far behind with four.

- LCU enters Friday at 6-6 in conference play after alternating results over its last four matches. The Lady Chaps swept Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville before falling in four sets to West Texas A&M. LCU is two matches behind the group tied at 7-4 and one-and-a-half matches ahead of Texas Woman's, which enters Friday at 4-7 in LSC play.

LOOKING AT TWU
- TWU has an 8-7 edge in the all-time series between the two programs. The Pioneers had a three-match win streak in the series to enter the 2025 season, but it was interrupted with a 3-2 LCU win Halloween Night (Oct. 31, 2025) in Lubbock and a LSC Championship win (3-0 on Nov. 21, 2025 in San Angelo, Texas) to give LCU wins in the prior two meetings in the series. The first four all-time meetings (of the 15) were neutral site meetings and played between 1979 and 1988 (the teams' prior meeting was on a neutral site floor for the first time since a 3-0 TWU win Oct. 7, 1988 in Wichita Falls, Texas, which improved LCU to 2-3 against TWU in neutral site play). LCU has a 2-2 record all-time in Denton, falling in their prior two visits, including a 3-1 loss in their prior visit to Little D (Sept. 27, 2024).

- Texas Woman's enters Friday's match at 7-14 overall and 4-7 in Lone Star Conference play, sitting 12th in the league standings as the race for the nine-team LSC Championships tightens. The Pioneers are coming off a 3-2 loss at Texas A&M International on Tuesday after taking a 2-1 match lead, and they return home to Kitty Magee Arena with a 5-3 home record. TWU has split its last four matches, with wins over St. Mary's and UT Permian Basin and losses to Angelo State and TAMIU.

-  Defense is the foundation of the Pioneers' profile. TWU averages 17.28 digs per set, ranking third in the LSC and 28th nationally, while its 2.22 blocks per set also rank third in the conference and 27th nationally. Alyssa Rojo anchors the back row with 395 digs and averages 5.06 per set, ranking second in the LSC, while Trinity Blackwood has 68 total blocks and Montserrat Soto-Talavera has 65. In conference play, TWU is averaging 17.10 digs and 2.08 blocks per set.

- Mary Grace King leads a balanced TWU attack with 227 kills and averages 2.95 per set, while Trinity Blackwood has 181 kills at 2.45 per set and Gracie Erichsen has 154 at 2.52. King also carries one of the heaviest offensive workloads in the league, averaging 10.00 attacks per set, third in the LSC. In conference play, Blackwood leads TWU at 2.73 kills per set, followed by King at 2.44 and Erichsen at 2.26.

- The Pioneers use multiple setters, with Lorena Gómez leading the team with 461 assists and 5.91 per set, while Cat Millsap has 158 assists and Allison Watson 105. Gómez also contributes 197 digs, while Millsap has 12 service aces. TWU is hitting .165 overall and .147 in conference play, and its 38.87 attacks per set lead the LSC, reflecting a team that extends rallies and generates volume through its defensive play.
