The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals close their stay in the Tucson Invitational Games in a similar fashion that they opened their stay. LCU will play the final time slot Friday night with a 7 p.m. (9 p.m. Central) first pitch against Valley City State University and will follow with the first time slot Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. (11 a.m. Central) start against Dickinson State University.
LCU is 2-2 in Tucson and coming off a 14-1 win over Marian (WI) to improve their overall record to 12-13. The Chaps produced 18 hits in their win over Marian and head into Friday's game with a .307 team batting average with 17 home runs.
Hunter McFall is leading the team with a .363 hitting mark and 37 hits.
Wade Stramp is hitting .360 and has an on base percentage of .513 with 27 walks. The pitching staff has a staff ERA of 5.49 on the season.
In Tucson, LCU is hitting .331 as a team with 34 runs in four games. They have spread out ther roster in Arizona, as only two players have started all four games.

Valley City, North Dakota based Valley City State is 14-12 on the season and 3-8 in Tucson. The NAIA program is hitting .324 on the season, with Anthony Necochea leading the team batting .429 with seven doubles and four triples. The Vikings have produced an NAIA leading 24 triples on the season, with Joe Demers leading the NAIA with seven. The pitching staff has a 7.44 ERA.
Dickinson State is another North Dakota based NAIA program. DSU enters a doubleheader with Hastings (Neb.) Friday with a 7-10 record before facing LCU Saturday. Jordan Tescher leads the .303 hitting team with a .455 batting mark and also has three home runs. Their staff ERA is 7.06.
LCU is 13-0 all-time verses Valley City State, with the all-time meetings starting in 1996 and all prior meetings coming at Hays Field. The Chaps are 0-1 against Dickinson State, with the lone meeting coming back on Mar. 15, 2015 at the Tucson Invitational Game resulting in a 13-6 win for DSU.
Dalton Silva, pitched a scoreless inning, is the only Chap on the current roster that played in the game. Tescher was 3-for-5 in the game for the Blue Hawks.
