HORSESHOE BAY, Texas (April 21, 2015) –
Jarred Jeter of Lubbock Christian became the first Chap to be named to the Heartland All-Conference golf team following his season-long performance and showing Tuesday afternoon on the Slick Rock Golf Course at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, where LCU concluded the three round tournament.
Jeter's performance improved each round, beginning with a 74 to a 73 and finishing with a 68 for a total of 215 to tie for eighth place. He is joined on the First Team by Sam Johnston of Oklahoma Christian, Dillon Van Essen of St. Edward's, Tanner Alder of Rogers State, James Bolton of Newman and Garrett Fey of Dallas Baptist, the individual medalist of the championship who shot a 207.
Austin Campbell (74-70-74, 218) ended in a 15
th-place tie,
Beau Moore (72-75-74, 221) tied for 23
rd,
Josh Montoya (76-79-76, 231) wound up in 37
th place, and
Austin Ammons (76-83-78, 237) concluded in a tie for 41
st.
Jeter collected a dozen birdies during the tournament, while Campbell and Moore each recorded eight. Ammons tallied four and an eagle within the three days.
Dallas Baptist beat out St. Edward's for the conference title by five strokes with an overall team score of 860. LCU totaled a score of 885.
LCU, along with Oklahoma Christian and Rogers State, were not be able to compete for the team championship due to their provisional NCAA status. All three schools competed as individuals in the tournament and were eligible to win the individual championship.
