Lady Chaps Battle To First Tie Since 2012

Brooke Wendl Adds Her Fifth Goal of the Young Season

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
Brooke Wendl recorded her fifth goal of the season and her goal Saturday came 6:09 into the game.
• For a second straight game, LCU received credit for a goal on an "own goal."
• LCU out-shot ENMU 17-12, with six different players producing at least two shots.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Wendl scored the game's opening goal on one of five of the team's corner kicks.  
• Melissa Moxley forced overtime with an unassisted goal off a free kick with 18:32 remaining.
• ENMU out-shot LCU 3-2 in shots on goal in the overtime periods.
 
GAME NOTES
• The Lady Chaparrals move to 17-6-3 all-time under head coach Alex Denning in home games.
• LCU has claimed two goals this season off "own goals." They went without an own goal last season.
• The tie contest placed LCU's all-time overtime record at 2-6-7. It was their first tie game since Oct. 25, 2012.
• Wendl produced five goals in the opening 96:09 of the season.  Her goal Saturday improve her career numbers to reflect 42 career goals 108 career points (all program honors).   
• Danielle Caro converted on a penalty kick for ENMU in the 34th minute, which tied the game up at 1-1. LCU only had one penalty kick ushered against them last season.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
3 : LCU goalkeeper Lauren Story made three saves in the game. All three came in the first overtime frame.
 
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian (1-0-1) will head to Colorado and face Western State Colorado (1-1-0) in Gunnison, Colo. Thursday. WSC collected their first win Saturday with a 2-0 win over Texas A&M International.
