Lady Chaps Head To The Panhandle

Three Stops in Four Days For the Traveling Lady Chaps

GOODWELL, Okla. (October 19, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University (11-9, 4-2) travels to Goodwell, Okla. on Wednesday for a Heartland Conference matchup against Oklahoma Panhandle State University. LCU is coming off of a 3-2 loss against Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Saturday night. The Lady Chaps currently sit in third place in Heartland Conference standings. This contest continues a six-match road trip for the Lady Chaps in which they will compete in the second half of their Heartland Conference schedule.

- This will mark LCU's 21st meeting against OPSU and first meeting since October 2nd of last year, where they pulled off a 3-0 sweep against the Aggies. Lubbock Christian's perfect 20-0 record dates back to 1978.
- OPSU was preseason picked eighth in Heartland Conference polls. They finished the 2015 season with a 0-15 conference record.
- The Aggies come into this contest following a 3-0 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State University on October 11.
-  OPSU currently sits in eighth place in Heartland Conference standings with a 0-6 conference record.
- Kayln Moore leads OPSU in kills (119) and aces (18). Abigail Reinick is tied for first among the Aggies with 151 digs.
 
GAME NOTES
- The Lady Chaps (11-9, 4-2) won their previous conference contest with a 3-0 sweep over Dallas Baptist University.
- LCU tied a season-best nine aces in their match against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. LCU fell in the contest 3-2, as their last two matches have gone five sets.
Mallory Powell ranks second in the conference in assists per set (9.49) and total assists (636). She has missed the past two games for the Lady Chaps.
Cory Jo Martin grabbed 41 assists and 15 digs against SWOSU for her first career double-double. 
Emily Hanaway is coming off of her sixth double-double of the season (vs. SWOSU), where she recorded 17 kills and 15 digs. She currently ranks second in the Heartland Conference in total attacks (773). She ranks third in the conference in attacks per set (10.04), kills per set (3.19), points per set (3.75), and total kills (246). She also leads the Lady Chaps with 18 aces on the season.
Kelsie French remains a bolster for the LCU defense. She ranks second in the Heartland Conference, 12th nationally, with 432 total digs. French also ranks 18th in the nation with 5.54 digs per set.
- LCU's defense has held strong all season as they lead the Heartland in opponent hitting percentage (.142) and total team blocks (152). They also rank second in the Heartland with 2.04 blocks per set.
- The Lady Chaps have not been shy with their offense this year as they rank second in the conference in total team attacks (2,611).
- LCU's only conference losses have come at the hands of Arkansas Fort Smith and St. Edward's, who each are atop the conference standings.
