TOURNAMENT TIME
Lubbock Christian University hopped on a plane and headed to Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Clasico. The Chaps play a pair of games in Puerto Rico, starting with Midland, Michigan based Northwood University. This will be the first ever meeting between the squads as well as LCU's first game away from the Rip Griffin Center this season. LCU finished the 2015-16 season with a 2-2 neutral site record.
Â
Despite opening up the season with a 0-2 record, the Chaps have gone on a four game tear to improve to a 4-2 record. LCU's success can be attributed to many factors, but the most prevalent has been their presence in the paint against opponents. The Chaparrals have outrebounded their opponents in every game in addition to averaging a stellar 86.8 points per game.
Â
CHAP ATTACK
Brennen Fowler, the current Heartland Conference Player of the Week, has been a nightmare for defenders this season. He is averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. In his last outing, Fowler converted 5-6 for 13 points against Our Lady of the Lake. The 6-7 sophomore has started in all six of LCU's contests and his 93 total points lead the Chaps.

Junior

Schuster has started in the last two contests for the Chaparrals and has led LCU scorers in each game. Schuster has also made his way to the free throw line 18 times and converted on 15 for an 83% free throw percentage.
Â
Tyler Rogers has been a shark around the rim for Lubbock Christian. He has come off of the bench in four games to average 10.7 points per game. Rogers has dished out 10 assists and kept defenders on their heels with his ferocious dunks.
Â
Freshman
Jay Workman has averaged 25 minutes per game in addition to shooting 26-44 for a .591 field goal percentage. While only starting in two contests, Workman has proven to be another key player on Lubbock Christian's bench and scored a season-high 18-points in his latest performance against Our Lady of the Lake.
