LUBBOCK, Texas (February 20, 2016) –

Blanchette had a no-hitter through five innings and it came to an end in the sixth inning by a lead-off single from Sam Kohler. The Chaps pitcher revenged the hit by picking off Kohler and retiring the next and final 11 batters faced en route to completing his second consecutive complete game.
The Rams lone run in the game came unearned. An error followed by catcher's interference set up runners aboard and a ground out by Matt Waller led to the Rams only run. The scenario took place in the fifth inning as LCU was up 3-0.

Brandon Rix. LCU built the lead in the third inning with a two-run inning.
Brent Stewart opened the inning with a double and ensuing hits by
Hunter McFall and
Tony Reyes completed the 3-0 lead.
Jesse Pintado helped grab some insurance runs in the seventh inning with an RBI-single, and later in the inning, Reyes hit his second double of the game and it gave LCU a 5-1 lead. They closed the scoring with a manufactured run in the eighth inning, as Urquizo singled, stole second base, and then scored on a ball hit through the left side by
Brett Wilhelm.
Josh Narvaiz, Urquizo, Reyes and Rix each went 2-for-4 for LCU. Reyes led LCU with two RBI. LCU out-hit ASU 12-1.
