No. 10 Lubbock Christian University and No.9 Angelo State University complete a three-game non-conference series Sunday at Hays Field. LCU is seeking a series sweep after claiming a 7-6 win Friday and a 6-1 one-hit victory Saturday over the Rams. LCU has won nine consecutive games, while ASU has dropped their last two games.
Â
BIG ALLCU is expected to go with
Albert Aveytia on the mound. The Prairie View A&M transfer has been used as a starter and closer in two prior appearances this season. His start was on Feb. 9 in a 13-3 win over West Texas A&M in which he went five innings and allowed three runs off nine hits. He registered a save on Feb. 13 vs. New Mexico Highlands. He is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and has five strikeouts (1 walk) in six innings pitched.
Â
A LITTLE GRAYThe Rams did not indicate who their Sunday starting pitcher would be. Graylon Brown (1-1, 0.79 ERA), who was their middle-game starter in their opening series against Texas A&M International (nine inning game) has not started in this series. The Rams also have Joey Wise (1-0, 5.63 ERA), who has a pair of starts on the season.
