FRIDAY FLASHBACK
Lubbock Christian University came back from a three-run deficit in the eighth inning Friday, but could not rally for the win as an unearned run off a wild pitch proved to be the difference in a 4-3 win by Colorado State – Pueblo in LCU's first road game of the season and their first game on Colorado soil in program history. It was the first game of their current four-game series with the ThunderWolves.

NATIONALLY KNOWN
LCU will go with Guillaume Blanchette on the mound. The Canadian left-hander is 2-0 this season with a 0.82 ERA. He claimed National Pitcher of the Week honors (NCBWA) off his last start. Blanchette had an impressive outing in last Saturday's 6-1 win over No.9 Angelo State, pitching his second career complete game and first one-hitter. Blanchette had a no-hitter through five innings and it came to an end in the sixth inning off a lead-off single. The Chaps pitcher revenged the hit by picking off the runner and retiring the final 11 batters faced. Blanchette, who allowed no earned runs, faced 31 batters and fanned six in the complete game.

FOLLOWING BLANCHETTE
In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, LCU will start Albert Aveytia on the mound. He is 1-1 and also has a save as he has had the decision or save in all three of his appearances this season. His last start came Sunday against No.9 Angelo State, as he went five innings and allowed five runs off nine hits.

THE PACK
CSU-Pueblo will start Kyle Lazcano in the opener Saturday and will follow with Kyle Peeler. Lazcano (1-1) went five innings in his prior two starts and is coming off a start against Adams State in which CSU-P won 14-3. He has 10 strikeouts and two walks in the prior two starts combined. Peeler (0-0) is scheduled to make his first start. His only appearance of the season was a three-inning relief outing on Feb. 13, a 9-5 loss to Adams State. He surrendered three runs off three hits in his three innings of work.

Here are some additional series notables:

- LCU registered their first home run Friday to end a streak of six consecutive games without a home run. Brent Stewart's homer was his team-leading second of the season and has been the only one hit in the series.
- Jamie Bustamante (3-for-4) and Hunter McFall (2-for-3) were LCU's only multi-hit performers Friday.
- Jordan Godman, Dominick Bregar and Beau Cebulski each went 2-for-4 for CSU-Pueblo Friday.
- LCU was caught stealing three times Friday. They were 13-for-13 in stolen bases prior to the game.
- Friday's game was LCU's first road game of the series and this series marks LCU's first ever games played on Colorado soil.
