FLYING PAST FALCONS
LCU comes into Monday's game on a three-game win streak after sweeping a two-game home-and-home series with Texas-Permian Basin. LCU defeated the Falcons 10-2 and 8-2.
 
BIG AL
Albert Aveytia is LCU's scheduled starting pitcher for Monday. He is looking to make his fourth start of the season. In five games, he is 1-2 with a 5.87 ERA. He has only allowed three extra-base hits (all doubles) in 15.1 innings on the season.
 
FOR THE PIONEERS
Paxton Bartley is expected to start, with a complimentary of "staff day" options for the Pioneers. Paxton has not started a game this season and has made eight appearances totaling 10.1 innings. Opponents are hitting .152 against him.  
 
PUTTING ON THE RIX
Brandon Rix was solid in LCU's series against UTPB, going 6-of-8 from the plate with four RBI. He had a pair of runs driven in during each game and was 4-for-5 to open the series. On the season, Rix is hitting .492 on a squad that has a .353 batting average.

- The Sooner Athletic Conference has WBU preseason picked third in the conference. 
- The Pioneers are hitting .367 as a team, with Alex Mumm hitting .480 with seven home runs. WBU have hit 41 home runs this season, Gregg Veneklasen leading the team with eight.
- Pitcher Jonathan Frost completed the first nine-inning no-hitter for WBU in 13 years Saturday, completing the task against Bacone.
 
HISTORY WITH WBU
This marks the 103rd all-time meeting between the two teams. LCU leads the all-time series with a 78-24 mark. The Pioneers have never swept the season series and LCU has not swept the series since 2007.
