KEEPING IT GOING
No.10 Lubbock Christian University takes a seven-game conference win streak into Saturday's 1 p.m. first pitch, as they complete a three-game Heartland Conference series with Texas A&M International University. LCU, 7-2 in their last nine games overall, sits tied atop the Heartland Conference standings with a 13-4 conference mark with St. Edward's (LCU has the tiebreaker advantage over SEU).
 
FRIDAY FLASHBACK
LCU received six runs-batted-in from Brett Wilhelm and were able to bounce back from a pair of early deficits (trailed 2-0 in each game) to sweep a twinbill with a 12-4 and 9-3 win over Texas A&M International University in Heartland Conference play Friday at Hays Field.  
 
STREAKS
Hunter McFall enters Saturday's game on a 21-game hit streak and has reached base safely in 24 consecutive games. McFall has a 17-game conference hit streak (at least one hit in all conference games). The hit streaks are the longest by a Chap this season. McFall is batting .439 with 36 hits and has a .510 on base percentage over the past 21 games since his hit streak began. He has only been hitless in three games this season.
 
REBER REWARD
LCU will start Russell Reber on the mound. He is 4-1 on the season with a 3.23 ERA. The start, his 12th of the season, will be his third start of the week. He allowed one run off three hits in four innings Tuesday at West Texas A&M (no decision). Reber allowed one hit over the final 18 batters he faced. He has allowed one earned run over his three prior combined outings (14 innings). Reber also has eight strikeouts and one walk over that span. 
 
ON THEIR HILL
The Dustdevils are slated to start Eduardo Rodriguez (3-6 6.58 ERA). Rodriguez is a freshman pitcher out of Laredo, Texas and ill make his 11th start of the season. He has gone at least five innings in his prior two starts. His last start he suffered the loss in a 7-4 loss to Rogers State at home. He allowed six runs off 10 hits in 5.2 innings.  
 
HUNGER GAMES
Saturday, LCU and South Plains Food Bank are teaming up for their annual Strike Out Hunger campaign. Fans can get in free to LCU softball and baseball Saturday by bringing five canned food items (per person) or 10 per family. The canned items will be donated to the South Plains Food Bank.  Other activities surrounding Strike Out hunger will take place and everything gets underway at 11 a.m.
 
SERIES NOTABLES
.625 – LCU's Jaime Bustamante is hitting .625 in the series with five hits in eight at-bats.
2 – LCU hit two home runs in Friday's doubleheader and they were the first home runs at home in a conference game this season for the Chaps.
4 – Mario Ramirez leads TAMIU in the series with four hits and is .571 at the plate against the Chaps.
6 – The total number of RBI produced by Brett Wilhelm in the doubleheader. Wilhelm was 3-for-4 with two outs and all six of his RBI were two-out RBI (He had three on the season entering the day).
9 – Nine different Chaps had at least one hit with a runner on base in the twinbill.
10 – All 10 players that have had an at-bat in this series for LCU have at least one hit.
11 – Number of two-out RBI the Chaps had on the day. They had an 11-4 advantage in the category.
24 – LCU flew out 24 times in Friday's doubleheader, with 14 fly-outs in the second game of the doubleheader.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
LCU leads the all-time series with an advantage of 6-1. The Chaps, who are now 5-0 all-time at home against TAMIU, went 1-1 in Laredo last season in a series held to two games due to weather.
