Chaps Facing Big Divisional Tilt-Match in Odessa Saturday

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• Lubbock Christian University has made their way to Odessa, Texas for a West Division Heartland Conference match against University of Texas Permian Basin. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Falcon's UTPB Soccer Field.
• Lubbock Christian is looking to rebound after suffering their largest defeat of the season in a 4-0 loss on the road against West Texas A&M.
• LCU stands with a 1-2-2 conference road record this season and 1-4-2 overall record in matches away from home. Their lone away win came in a 1-0 result over Newman University in Wichita, Kan. (Sept. 16).
• Of their seven away games, the Chaps have recorded three goals over three matches. LCU has been unable to score more than one goal in any of their away contests this year.

STORY LINES
• The Chaparrals have not lost consecutive contests since opening up the 2017 season with an 0-3-0 record.
• Lubbock Christian sits in the Heartland's West Division's third place position with 14 points. Texas – Permian Basin occupies the division's second place position with 18 conference points. With three matches left in the regular season, the Chaparrals are in need of a win in order to make a final push up the Heartland standings.
• As a team, LCU has registered 14 goals this season along with 13 assists.
• Sophomore Parker O'Quinn leads the Heartland with a 5.08 saves per game average. O'Quinn also ranks first in the conference for saves made with 61 on the year.
• The Chaps have made a habit of performing stronger in the second half of their matches. Of their 14 goals this season, nine have been recorded within the second period.

SCOUTING UTPB
• UTPB is riding a four-match win streak where they have outscored opponents by a 9-3 margin. Of those four victories, the Falcons have shut out their opposition twice.
• Brandon Lee leads the Texas – Permian Basin squad with 27 points on 12 goals and three assists.
• Alec Sproule has remained in the net for a majority of the Falcon's season playing and starting in nine matches. Sproule is allowing 1.84 goals per contest, but has managed 45 saves for a .738 save percentage. The senior has amounted a 6-3-0 record over the season.
• UTPB is allowing 2.29 goals per contest. Out of 14 matches, the Falcons have allowed a total of 32 goals.
• Texas – Permian Basin has fouled teams 158 times. They have drawn 23 yellow cards and three red cards this season.


SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB
Lubbock Christian's meeting with the Falcons will be the eighth all-time in a series that stretches back to the 2013 season. LCU holds a 6-1-1 advantage over UTPB and a perfect 4-0-0 record when playing the Falcons on the road. In their previous matchup, the Chaps dominated Texas – Permian Basin 3-1 in Odessa, Texas. Lubbock Christian has outscored the Falcons by a 22-9 margin.
