No.22 Lubbock Christian University won back-to-back extra inning affairs to sweep a non-conference doubleheader at Heartland Conference foe St. Mary's Friday at Dickson Stadium. The Chaparrals won the opener 3-2 in nine innings and followed with a 2-0 win in eight innings for their fourth straight victory.

LCU and St. Mary's have met 23 prior times dating back to 1978 and the all-time series is led by StMU 12-11. The Chaps were swept by the Rattlers in their last trip to San Antonio (2015 season). Prior to 2014, the two teams had not met since Feb. 5, 2000. LCU is 5-8 all-time against StMU away from Hays Field (only three wins prior to this season's series getting underway). LCU went 2-2 against StMU last season, winning two of three games of a Heartland Conference series in Lubbock. St. Mary's defeated LCU at the Heartland Conference Tournament last season.
