ELIMINATION BRACKET CONTINUES
No.9 Lubbock Christian University claimed their first win in Heartland Conference Tournament history Friday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout win over St. Mary's University. The win, LCU's eighth shutout of the season, as completed despite one hit produced. Josh Narvaiz had the lone LCU hit, as LCU took advantage of seven walks and four wild pitches. Pitcher Daniel Crooks went eight innings allowing four hits in the win (9-1).
 
With the win, LCU remains for a 7 p.m. elimination game Friday against Arkansas Fort Smith, who fell 10-5 to St. Edward's University. LCU went 1-2 in a three-game series at UAFS this season.
 
IF LCU WINS
If the Chaps claim their 38^th win of the season, they advance to the tournament's championship game(s) beginning Saturday at noon. LCU would have to defeat St. Edward's twice to claim their first tournament title.
 
IF LCU LOSES
The Chaps would have their tournament stay end with a loss. They would then await an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament.
