Lady Chaps Face first Road Test Seeking First Win on Colorado Soil

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals will take their talents to Pueblo, Colo. Saturday afternoon for a match against Colorado State University – Pueblo at 3 p.m. (central). The contest will kick off the road portion of the Lady Chap's schedule and will also begin a four-game road trip that will culminate in Bethany, Okla. Saturday, Sept. 9.
• LCU is coming off of a strong 4-0 win over Texas – Permian Basin, where four Lady Chaps got their names in the scoring column. Three of Lubbock Christian's four goals came within five minutes of each other in the first half.
• Freshman Allison Scott served up two assists against the Falcons, to help LCU to 11 points in the match.
• On the defensive end of the field, head coach Alex Denning's squad limited the Falcons to four shots.
 
STORY LINES
• Lubbock Christian has either won or tied in their first two matches of the season since 2012 when Denning took over the program.
• LCU's offense has been known to explode on opponents. Since joining the NCAA, in 2015, the Lady Chaps have recorded 10 victories by a margin of three goals or more.
• In Thursday's game against UT-Permian Basin, LCU posted a 52.4 shots on goal percentage by putting 11 of their 21 attempts on frame.
• Freshman Hannah Wise is coming off of an impressive performance in her collegiate debut. Wise made two saves against the Falcons and produced her first shutout victory.
• With kickoff taking place at 3 p.m. CST, the Lady Chaparral's will be playing in their second match in less than 48 hours. LCU is 4-3-0 all-time in road openers.
 
SCOUTING CSUP
• Saturday's showdown will be the CSUP's 2017 season debut. The Thunderwolves enter the year after finishing 14-5-1 overall and 9-2-1 in conference play in 2016. The RMAC has the T-wolves preseason picked tied for third in the conference's preseason poll.
• Colorado State – Pueblo closed out the 2016 campaign in a 1-0 first round loss to fellow Heartland Conference member Dallas Baptist University (11/10/2016).
• CSU-P logged an impressive record at home last season, going 10-1-0. Their lone loss on their home turf came in the form of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Texas Woman's University.
• The Thunderwolves have shown that they are no strangers to big games. Their biggest win of the 2016 season came in a 2-0 performance over then-No. 3 Colorado Mines (10/2/2016). The match was one of eight shutout victories in the 2016 campaign.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH CSUP
• The showdown between the LCU women and the Thunderwolves will be the first ever meeting between the squads. LCU is 0-1-1 all-time on Colorado soil, with both games played during the 2015 season.
