Lady Chaps Head to Oklahoma For Tournament Momentum

LCU Closes Regular Season at Rogers State

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
- Lubbock Christian University closes out their regular season Saturday in Claremore, Okla. facing Rogers State University. LCU is 9-8-0 on the season, and with an 8-5-0 conference record. They head into their final game tied for third place in the Heartland Conference standings. They have clinched a berth into the Heartland Conference Tournament and will either tackle the third or fourth seed.
- LCU enters the game following a 6-0 home win Thursday over Oklahoma Christian, which closed their home record at 6-4 (their highest win total at home since 2015).
- The Lady Chaps are closing their road schedule, where they are 3-4 this season. LCU went 5-5-0 on the road last season. 
 
STORY LINES
- LCU's scoring offense ranks second in the conference (1.8 goals per game), but they were shutout in their prior meeting against RSU. It is one of four shutouts the Lady Chaps have faced this season. 
- The Lady Chaparrals rank 38th nationally and co-lead the conference in assists (29) and 48th nationally in assists per game (1.71). Haley Knesek and Makenna Pate are the team's co-leaders in assists with five, which ranks tied for third in the conference behind a pair of Newman players leading the conference with six.
- McKenna Pate leads LCU overall in goals (8) and goals in conference play (7). Four of her eight goals have come on the road.
 
SCOUTING RSU
- Roger State University enters the contest with a 9-6-2 record.  They are 5-5-2 since their previous meeting, which was the conference opener. Despite wins in their previous two matches, RSU is unable to clinch a spot in the conference tournament.
- RSU is 5-3-1 at home this season. Their last home game resulted in a 2-0 win (Oct. 20) over St. Mary's.
- RSU is being led by head coach Yolanda Thomas who is in her first year at the helm for the Hillcats. Thomas was hired this past offseason from University of Tulsa, where she spent three seasons as an assistant.
- Rogers State ranks second in the Heartland Conference and is fifth in the nation in save percentage, with a rate of 81.8%. Taylor Sargent, who leads the conference in minutes played in goal (1,598), is second in the conference with a 81.6% save percentage.
- Hannah Mushisky leads RSU in goals (7) and points (15).  Of her seven goals, three are game-winning goals to rank tied for fourth in the conference.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH RSU
The two programs first met in Lubbock Christian's inaugural 2010 season, where Rogers State captured a 3-0 win over the Lady Chaps. Since then, LCU has improved to a 6-3-2 overall record against the Hillcats. Their most recent showdown ended in 1-0 RSU win in Lubbock (Sep. 13).
