Home Stand Continues With Another Colorado Foe

COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY – PUEBLO (1-0-0) at LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (0-1-0)

LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• The Lady Chaparrals are back in action at home Monday afternoon against Colorado State University – Pueblo. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at LCU Soccer Field.
• After a battle of wills that ultimately resulted in a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon, Lubbock Christian University will look to right the sails and grab their first win against a CSU-P program that enters the day with a 1-0 record.
• Saturday's contest featured 10 shots, two on goal, for the Lady Chaps offense.
 
STORY LINES
• Lubbock Christian has not lost back-to-back games to open up the season since the 2011 campaign.
• Monday's contest continues a three-game home stand for LCU which will wrap up Thursday afternoon.
• Hannah Wise rolls into the game holding a .667 save percentage.
• Head coach Alex Denning and his Lubbock Christian program stand 1-3-1 against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) opponents since joining the NCAA Division II ranks in the 2015 season.
• The Lady Chaps lone goal, so far, comes from defender Hailey Phipps. Phipps made her way up the field on the play to charge the net on a corner kick.
 
SCOUTING CSU – P
• Though the Thunderwolves have only played in one contest this season, they have managed to record two goals on six shot attempts.
• Opportunities were rarely wasted in their opening match against West Texas A&M as five of their six shots landed on target.
• Experience will be a factor in Monday's game as Colorado State – Pueblo's roster is comprised of 10 seniors.
• CSU-P has strung together seasons of 10 or more wins over the past two years.
• The 2017 season culminated in a fourth-place finish within the final RMAC standings for the Thunderwolves.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH CSU – P
The Lady Chaparrals have met the Thunderwolves on just one prior occasion, a 2-0 loss last season in Pueblo, Colo.
